hi M.,

i'm w/stream for over 2 years & all is well. i'm never late on my pmts. i got chg a late fee because my pmt made it there the day it was due & they didn't post it. so, now i just give it extra time for the mail to avoid the hassel. i think my rate is 13.8 - went up from 12.9 after 2 year contract ended.

I am shocked by the other posters complaint against Stream. I have been a customer with them for two+ years and I have had nothing but good service. We own rental properties too, so I have lots of accounts.

If I forget to pay a bill, I get an automated phonecall reminding me to pay and it even leaves a message if you do not anwser. It calls a couple of times too.

I also get a little reminder in my bill and via email when my contract is about to expire asking me if I want to renew. I have never had my rate increase.

In general companies dont want to jack your rate up, they get more money out of you keeping you at a lower rate but locked in as a customer for a longer commitment. Stream is good about this anyway.

GL with your decision!

I'm with Stream, and they are decent. We signed for a 3 year price lock and get just under 13 cents/ KW. I hear that you have to watch to make sure to either resign or change when contract is up, or they jack your rate up to 19 cents/ KW, but I think most companies are like that. We haven't had any problems with them.

We are currently with Amigo and have been with them since June 08. No problems at all, it's great!

Hi,

I did not like Stream Energy. I have no idea about Amigo. However, I do have Ambit Energy and like them. Their costs seem to be lower although I haven't shopped in a while. But when I got them it was cheaper per kwh. If you want more info, contact me.
Good luck

hello there, I am with Stream Energy and I have had pretty good experience. I would just say to make sure you get your prices locked in, because once my contract was up they did jack up the prices. But you just have to make sure that you lock those in and you won't have a problem. good luck with it though!

I found Stream to have HORRIBLE customer service. Rates fluctuated wildly, once our power was cut off over a billing error and then the rep was very rude when resolving it. It's unfortunate that they use a network marketing model to sell their service. When they don't give good customer service, it could put relationships at risk.

We use StarTex Power now and so far, so good...

I haven't used either but read an article in Sunday's FW Star Telegram about Amigo and their pricing tactics. Stay away from them! The article mentioned people being sold cheap rates only to have them be double or tripled without notice. I use Gexa Energy and haven't had a problem with them. The only thing I don't like is their paying online options. Good luck!
