Electric Companies

Hey all - TXU's prices are starting to really get RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! Has anyone here switched to a new company and been happy with them? We have kept our house at 69 degrees this winter and our bill was STILL almost $500 this month! UGH!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

I feel your pain, but justt a head's up about Green Mountain. We switched when they first came to Texas & got SCREWED royally! I really liked the idea of the wind mills & clearer air, too, however, like most socialistic tree huggers, they don't know how to be capitalists for flip & messed up our billing every single month for 6 months. THEN, when we'd had enough, they had the gaul to come back after 2 or 3 months & tell us we still owed them monney, even though they admited to messing up the billing! It was the most frustrating experience. So, unless they know how to bill now, I'd steer clear.

I'm upset about TXU's prices, too. During the summer we kept our house on 80 degrees (64 in the winter) and our cost is around $450 a month in the summer. I'm checking into a company called Green Mountain Energy. Its all renewable energy like windmills and water. None of the stuff bad for the environment. Has anyone worked with this company before? I've not switched yet, but I'm planning on it. They are just a little cheaper than TXU and environmental friendly.

I use Texas Power.. used to be called Starlight. You can pull up all electic companies and see their rates on one page at www.powertochoose.com put your zip and it will give you their current rate for your zip code.

Hey girly it is C. like always!!!! And I switched to Gexa Energy and my bill was only like $150 and I kept it on 75 all winter!!! You can find them on google!!!
