Eczema - Round Rock,TX

I am looking for someone in the Austin area that can help with alternative treatments or cures for eczema. I have had it since i was a baby I get it on my face and buttocks and back of thighs for the last couple of years and I am just tired of the sores that are dry and itch, and all that jazz. I have been using topical steroids and I don't want to have to start using an even stronger one now. I have read a few times of people that help figure out what triggers the inflammation in the first place. I have been to dermatologists and always the same use none irritating soap and cream. It doesn't work. I have been allergy tested and they don't think it's food allergies. I just would like to have none irritated skin.

What can I do next?

My daughter has the same issues, her eczema is horrible. Have you tried Vani Cream? Non-perscription, but the pharamacist has to order it for you. It has made a difference in her skin. Cetaphil and cortizone are the only other things we use with her...the derm told us that eczema is a presentation of an allergy to something. Maybe switching to free and clear everything would help as well. Good luck!

Check out www.yourhealingdiet.com. Deirdre Earls cured herself of psoriasis through changing her diet and lifestyle. She has a book out that is also very helpful. She also offers a once-a-month free class at Whole Foods on using food as medicine.

I buy my daughter Coritizone. It clears her eczema up.

Hi M.! I have had excema since I was a child. It went away for 14 years after having my first son, but has now come back (strange). I found that mine worsens when I am nervous or have a lot of anxiety. As far as food, I can eat anything, but I avoid cutting acidic vegetables and fruits- that always seemed to trigger it too.

My suggestions would be trying some relaxation methods, like Yoga or meditation. Also stay away from cutting veggies like potatos and tomatos. I know not much help, but I haven't found anything that helps either after many visits to dermatologists.

Good luck!
