Easter Egg Hunt for 14Month Old Granddaughter

We did this for my daughter last year...she was around the same age. I used the gerber gummies. I put 2 or 3 in each egg. It helped her learn to "hunt" for them. She then sat in the middle of the grass yard and opened them to eat them. Priceless. <3 Good luck and Happy Easter!

we did the gerber puffs and organic cereals in ours at that age and in just a few. Other than that there's not much I can think of to put in that wouldn't be a choking hazard. Definitely "hide" them in plain site or she won't find them. Ask her parents what they think. Hiding them empty will be just as much fun at her age so don't worry too much! Have a great Easter!!

Another quick thought... you didn't ask, but just in case you were wondering, don't hide the eggs. Just place them in plain sight in corners of your sofa, on the floor near the wall, on top of a stack of books, etc. Or have them peeking out of things, but not out of sight. Just walking around and picking them up is enough challenge for a 14 month old.

My darling mom created an egg hunt for my girls when we went to visit just after their 1st birthday. They loved it, but were only interested in the eggs they could see, so my mom had to find all the eggs she'd easily hidden and put them in more accessible spots.

Depending on what her parents allow her to have, you can put some goldfish crackers in there (or the like), stickers, hair barrets.

Cheerios or gold fish would be safe and fun.

bouncy balls, gold fish, baby fruit snacks from gerber, they have little chics at Joanns or Michaels. They are so cute... fuzzy yellow, pink and blue in a pack of 3 or 4. We have put those int eggs too.

You could put some puffs or cheerios or little toys in them if you want, or at least maybe some of them, but you're right at 14 months she'll probably be more excited about hunting them, throwing them and taking them apart.

I've always done easter egg hunts for the grandkids. I used pretzels and cereal when they were small (after washing the eggs to make sure they were clean) and switched over to candy and small toys as they have gotten older. One tip I'll give you is to hide them in plain sight. Just put them on the floor or in the middle of a chair cushion. Also know how many you started with so that you won't be finding them a couple months later.

Target sells little people eggs! They are large plastic eggs with different little people inside. AWESOME! Your granddaughter probably has a little people bus or airplane or something.

I would leave them empty. I'm sure looking for them will be distraction enough. Plus some people (like myself) can be very picky about their baby's diet. -I suppose you could ask your daughter/daughter-in-law.

I agree with putting toddler snacks in the eggs. My kids loved to shake the eggs and hear them rattle.

I have a 15 month old daughter and I wanted her to egg hunt as well. I put her favorite snacks in the eggs. I got medium size eggs that could fit a few peanut butter ritz crackers and bunny shaped ritz crackers and smaller eggs I put goldfish and bite size cracker snacks in them.

This will be a fun Easter for them.
