Really you're only doing the 7 month old's basked for the sake of the 4 year old, so put in there stuff that the baby needs (and that maybe you have already). I'm putting in my son's (6 months) some diaper cream, soap, a book ($1 at Target) and a baby stacking toy (also a $1 Target find). I might even put in there some baby food like beans or peas since he can't eat they candy yet!

For the 4 year old put in some fun things that might get him/her excited for spring like sidewalk chalk and bubbles. Also books, coloring books, crayons, markers and stickers are always a safe bet or maybe some sort of card game or small toy. Also you can fit in some basics like bubblebath or socks and fancy underwear with characters on it. Do just a little candy and call it good.

Honestly your 7 month old does not need anything, not going to remember it so I would not do anything grand. If you must get something just get a fun colored basket for the 7 month old to play with have brightly safe colored blocks/shapes to pour out and put back in. You could also go the route of getting a hard book about Easter.

when I was four my parents used to buy the remade baskets you can get at walmart or any walgreens or CVS. It's better suited for kids that age. Not to mention we did our own Easter egg hunt where my mom would hard boil eggs and then let us color them with the dye we had for the eggs. Those were so much fun. I hope that helps. :)

I have a 2.5 year old and 7 month old and here's what I'm getting for them:

2.5 year old: Tiara for dress up, Candy (Peeps, chocolate, fruit snacks), Bubbles, Sidewalk Chalk, new hair bows, maybe some socks.

7 month old: New sippie cup, jars of baby food (carrots), maybe a new onsie or outfit, spring hat (since his winter ones are too small now!) If your 7 month old likes the binky, maybe get a new one of those? Maybe some new spoons or something for feeding (new plate?)

Are you telling your 4 year old that the Easter Bunny is brining her a basket? If so, let her know that her brother (sister?) is too young for the bunny to bring him/her anything so how about the 2 of you go to the store together and pick out a couple of special things? Or maybe one new stuffed animal.

I wouldn't really do anything either. If you feel you must, you can get her a can of the puff treats or something of that nature...like previous post a board book is nice.

My son was four months old his first Easter and yes I gave him a basket. He got Avent bottles, a couple of small stuff bunnies and some baby food for the future.

This year my son is four. I don't like to just put stuff in the eggs so there is stuff-little trinkets type things. He is all about the small Lego's so I think were going to those in his eggs. He is also getting the Crayola Travel size Glow Station. He'll probably also get a small chocolate bunny, but we don't really do much candy so that will probably be it candy wise. We might do something else Lego wise, not sure. We're making it easy on the Easter Bunny this year. Last year was all about Imaginext things.

Funny side note. We were in Walgreens this evening. They had the Zhu Zhu hamsters by the register. He was looking at a set they had. The cashier told him maybe the Easter Bunny will bring it. Once outside he said she was being funny. That was too big for the Easter Bunny to bring. It wouldn't fit in an egg. ;0)

When my girls were that age I put in diapers, wipes, a small toy and a book. It was simple and practical for the age. They don't know and it's still something they will need and use. Oh yeah, maybe a video too. Happy Easter!

Last year my daughter was about 8 months at Easter and it was important to me to start a tradition of Easter baskets and treats. I made her basket look the same as any other, I put a small sutffed bunny, a spring themed board book and some plastic eggs but I filled the eggs with baby finger foods like puffs, wagonwheels and freeze-dried fruit/yogurt melts. I even hid the basket (in plain sight) and had her find it because this was a tradition I cherish from my own childhood. The pictures we got were amazing and I love that I'll be able to share that with her when she grows bigger and for her to see what our Easter tradition is.

I have moved away from the candy basket granted my children are older and no longer believe in the easter bunny. I think an age appropriate stuffed animal or small toy would be best. You can always compensate with a small toy for the 4 year old or just explain to the 4 year old that the 7 month old really doesn't eat candy and the easter bunny felt it best to give a small toy. The truth of the matter is the 7 month old really won't understand any ways.

My kids are now 7 & 4. I try to limit the candy too = I like the fruit idea! I put books, movies, a few toys - one year I gave them new beach towels. They do get a chocolate bunny - tradition. I try to get them sugarfree candy - if I can find them. Zhu Zhu pets are a good idea; although I was too excited to wait to get them both one, we got two last weekend - I kicked myself for not waiting. Oh well. My daughter will be getting a barbie.

I will say this tho - GET IT EARLY. If you haven't noticed - and sadly it just hit me because I'm a late shopper myself - by the time the actual holiday DATE comes around - the stores are just about sold out, slim pickings, not really good price deals and the next holiday is usually out! I'm sure by 4th of July - Christmas will be out!!

i always do fruit baskets for my kids. They get a banana, orange, strawberrys, and grapes. i fill te eggs with grapes, SOME chocolate, and there is always a "golden egg" that has money in it. I will also get them each one chocolate bunny and then like a movie, or toy, or outfit. One year for my son i got everything spider man and even found a spiderman sippy cup. they love it! and i know that they are not going to be all stuffed full of candy. FRUIT... thats the way to go!
