We have an easter hunt with the plastic eggs. We put fruit chews, raisins, gold fish, Mini wheat cereal in them. If it is raining The Easter Bunny hides them in the living room. We leave carrots with the stems still on them.. In the morning the carrots are pretty chewed up and he leaves the stems laying by the front door.

We have easter Brunch at my moms home. The Traditional Mexican dessert is called "CAPIROTADA". It is like a bread pudding, It has raisins lots of cinnamon, brown sugar, and then is topped with sharp cheddar cheese.

For the Basket, books, bath toys, sun hat, sunglasses, sidewalk chalk, Easter Tattoos, little cars and trucks.

We dye eggs the night before or the friday before. We pose for Easter photos, in our Easter clothes while holding our Easter baskets.

Easter Pinata with the neighborhood along with a giant Easter egg hunt and then a huge cookout. We all bring our own meat and 1 side dish.

The dollar section at target has some cute stuff that could be age appropriate. Little cartons of goldfish, some play cars, bouncy balls, a little bit of chocolate/candy (every Easter basket has to have it!)
We usually hide eggs so the kids can hunt for them at the park, we try to make it to the early easter church service, and I usually make a lemon coconut cheesecake and I use green food color to make the coconut look like easter grass and put whopper eggs on top;)

We typically do our Easter egg hunt the Sat before Easter. It's just too much going on on Sunday with church and family dinner to do that. The eggs have loose change & candy in them (but my kids are older also). For your son's age I would put goldfish, m & m's, raisens, etc. in there. For the Easter basket - ours are not major stuff. A chocolate bunny and couple of other pieces of candy and a couple of small toys from the dollar aisle at Target. Last year I did get both boys a new Bible. Easter is so much more for us than the Easter bunny that I really de-emphasize the Easter bunny and push the religious aspect.

Well, at 21 months, he's not going to need a lot of stuff, to be honest. We usually try to stay away from candy in the baskets and put useful stuff in there. We usually do pajamas, some type of summer outfit and some things for outdoor play like sidewalk chalk and bubbles. My youngest (21 months) is getting a big drawing pad and some of the fat crayons.

I try to avoid the traditional candy filled basket, we usually put 1 main item then fill it with little toys, playdough, movies, reading books or coloring and activity books. The dollar store and anywhere you can buy party supplies is a good place to find little fillers, (the stuff you would get in a goody bag from a birthday party).
Just like cookies for santa we leave the Easter bunny a carrot and maybe some celery or lettuce and a cup of water which is a fun tradition, we also leave santa's reindeer a baby carrot each and some water.
