Early Pregnancy Cramps

I recently took a pregnancy test and found out i was pregnant i was about 2 weeks late and i thought maybe it was just stress because i was having cramps n my stomach so i was sure my period was about to come. I began to look up early pregnancy symptoms and i saw the spotting before and then the early pregnancy cramps which i have been having a lot of usually more at night when im laying down trying to sleep. I was wondering if there is anything that i can do to somehow soothe the cramps so they wont be as bad as they have been?Yes, this is my first pregnancy, the cramps arent terribly bad and i have no spotting or bleeding, so i have nothin to worry about right?..

What can I do next?

Congrats! I've always had cramps early on in all 3 of my pregnancies. And, just like you, it was the worst at night. this was because that's when I was the most bloated. As long as there is no bleeding and they aren't that bad (tylenol should do the trick) you should be fine. But if that's not working, just call the doctor and ask them. That's what they're there for and they get calls all the time about things like this. Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated - that should help too.

Go to the doctor. It could be nothing, or it could be something more like I had. All I had was horrible cramps and it was due to way too low progesterone. I just had to have progesterone for the whole first trimester and my daughter was/is fine. So, just talk with the doctor and get their opinion. Congrats on your first!!! :)

It's probably just your uterus stretching. I got that a lot with both my pregnancies. If it makes you feel better though, call your doctor's office; it never hurts to be sure.

Some cramping is normal. If it gets to be downright painful, you may want to get checked out to rule out ectopic pregnancy.

Make sure you talk to your doctor about them, but it sounds like everything is just starting to stretch and adjust for you baby. Make sure you take it easy and don't try to do to much. Take advantage of this time to pamper yourself and let others help you.
Good Luck

Cramps were always my 1st sign of pregnancy. I was always bummed thinking I was going to start my period and both times I was actually pregnant. I think if they get really bad you may need to take it easy and rest a little.

Congrats!!!! And, no, you probably have nothing to worry about. When I was pregnant with my first, I thought for sure I was going to get my period the first few weeks of being pregnant. Before taking the pregnancy test, I would literally run to the bathroom with a tampon in hand. Low and behold, I was actaully pregnant. I had an uneventful, full term pregnancy and my daughter is now a healthy, happy two year old!The cramps should go away on their own shortly, only to be replaced by a host of other crazy symptoms! :-) In terms of what you can do to relieve them, I'm not sure. Just hang in there - they should stop soon. Good luck and enjoy every moment of your first pregnancy... there's nothing like it!

I remember getting cramps like that early on in pregnancy but they weren't horribly bad. You can take tylenol while pregnant so you can take that. But if the cramps are really bad and you are bleeding at all then you should call your doctor.

Mine always got worse when I was dehydrated. Start drinking lots of water!
