Hi Ladies! My kids are sick. Its a little cold, runny nose, cough. My daughter is 4 and shes doing pretty good with it. Shes bopping around like any other day. But the baby, he is CRANKY! He wont let me lay him down and screams until I pick him up, basically all day. Neither one of them have fevers, Iv been checking them everyday. But my son (baby) kinda messes with his ear sometimes. I cant tell if hes just playing with it, or if its bothering him. I dont know if this is true but I figured if he had an ear infection he would have a fever. Neither of my kids have ever had an ear infection. Anyways, I try not to take them to the doctor for every little cold, but Im a little worried that I may miss an ear infection. Should I just take him in?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

HI! Thanks for the advice, I took him in this morning.......no ear infection, they say its probably a combination of a cold and teething. If he gets a fever they want to see him again...........so we will see. Thanks again!

My son did the same thing when I laid him down, he'd screama and scream. I would say take him to the doctor. It sounds like an ear infection. My son did not have a fever with his either but did have cold symptoms (runny nose, etc). Try some pain reliever in the mean time.

Absolutely take him to the ped. My kids don't always register fevers with ear infections. They are miserable for the babies. Good luck and let us know.

I just took my 2 year old in yesterday because she complained that her ear hurt and she was playing with it. She had no fever but displayed the cough and runny nose. She did have an ear infection as well as bronchitis. I would take him in and have him checked out, better to be safe.
