Dyson Animal Vacuum Vs. Oreck???

hi-we are looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner and can not decide between the Dyson Animal or the Oreck XL. does anyone have any experience with either? pro/cons?? we have 2 dogs and a 5 year old and the Windtunnell just isn't cutting it any more! my husband is wanting a Rainbow, but i'm really now interested in a vacuum that cost as much as my 1st car!! any input appreciated!! thanx!

hi again--thanx to everyone for your help on choosing a new vacuum. we went with the dyson animal. we really like them both, but the bagless won us over(also the 20% off coupon from bed bath and beyond)haha!! thanx again!! have a great weekend!

We have the Dyson Animal and I love it! I have two cats and two dogs along with three kids and a 1 year old I babysit. I love all the attachments and it still fluffs up my 3 yr old carpet.

We have a dyson(the purple animal one) and we love it. I have three large dogs and two children with a baby on the way. with all the hair that they shed I do not regret purchasing it. It works far better than any other we have ever had.

Love our dyson animal! Though I wish we had a Kirby. That dry cleaning feature makes the carpet look spectacular. (We had 2 dogs at the time of our demo and really, nothing beats it!) We just figured the Dyson was a good middle ground between the regular vacs and the Kirby (which are about $1400).

We have an Oreck XL and I absolutely love it. I have two small kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. It vacuums everything! It does not blow air when you are using it so the dog hair stays there and actually gets vacuumed up! I hardly ever sweep anymore and find myself using it to clean up even after lunch. It's just easy and very light. I do not have any experiences with the Dyson but i would not trade in my Oreck for anything!!

We have two cats, one dog and a baby girl. Our Dyson Animal is a lifesaver! It's wonderful! It gets up all the animal hair!
