Dyslexic Tutor
Hello Everyone, I am new to this message board, and was wondering if anyone knows of a dyslexic tutor here in Fort Worth? I am having major problems with the ISD my son is attending.
Thank you,
DD

Look for a Barton tutor: http://www.bartonreading.com/tutors.html
This is an amazing system that worked great for my kids.

a couple of suggestions:
1. altaread.org to find tutors
2. the Hill School of Ft. Worth
My son was diagnosed over the summer and his old public school does not start students in their program until 2nd grade. He now goes to Hill School of Grapevine and I can see a huge difference in just 5 weeks.

Thank-you for asking this question because my daughter is also dyslexic. Unfortunately, your responses thus far are not too feasible for my daughter. I wish you luck.

See if LearningRx is in your area! The owner of the on near us Both his daughters suffer from dyslexia and it he claims it helped both of them and so he bought into their franchise! Also my brother suffered from Dyslexia before it was easier and early to diagnose and what helped him was meditation to deal with the added stress and Evelyn Wood Speed reading which I read years Later that a study found it to be true that a High IQ dyslexic can scan and read Fast with fewer comprehension errrors than if they read word by word. And found this link:

Your student in public schools has a Legal right to remediation even taped lectures and taped books to not have to read them! Check your state and applicable Federal Laws and No Child Left Behind mandates. Where we are they initially hedged but a year late told us as long as our child is in that school any remediation that they could offer and would help would be considered to help our child in MN not TX though! Keller TX it says has a LearningRX site. Have them test your child and they do guarantee an improvement! But it is pretty expensive so we took the part time home part time at the center option. PS it worked better when the child is in School not summer time!
