Just as the subject says. Seriously, he runs around like nothing is wrong, no fever, no wanting to cuddle extra. A bit on the grumpy side, but he's been like that for a month now.
At first I thought it was because I gave him almond milk 3 days ago and that is when the throwing up started (that night), but I didn't give him any yesterday, but last night he threw up twice!!
Could he be sick or does it take awhile for almond milk to leave his system? I of course know you aren't doctors, and I will call his doctor if this keeps up or it you think I should call them now. I just am putting it off because he doesn't act sick at all and so I'm sure they will tell us to put him on the BRATS diet (which he's already on) and make him rest.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks mama's! I realized at 2 oclock that he hadn't had a wet diaper since I changed his night time diaper. So I called immediately and they saw us. The doc thinks he has a virus and the vomiting should stop after three days (which was last night!!!) so crossing my fingers!!!

I had this EXACT same thing happen to my daughter. It's a virus. This is how it went.

Monday she woke up in the middle of the night throwing up. By Tuesday she was fine, in fact she was fine all week till, Friday. Then she started again, just at night. During the day she was fine, eating drinking, playing, seriously fine. She was a little grumpier but because she had lost sleep.

So Friday and Sat she wakes up throwing up. Sunday, Monday she was fine. We were getting ready to fly home the following week, so when Tuesday she threw up again I took her to the doc. He was completely stumped. Thought maybe she had acid reflux because she was only throwing up when she laid down. He told us to start giving her gas drops before she went to bed at night. So we did, but she threw up again on Thursday. We flew out Friday, and luckily she only woke up sick one night during our stay there. But she was, completely cranky for the first couple days.

But when we got home she threw up two more nights in a row. Now we were going on nearly a month of really inconsistent sicknesses. We had monitored her diet, her drinks, everything not one single thing was consistent.

Then just as quickly as it came on, it stopped. Like you I started asking around and a bunch of people told me their kids had the same thing. It just seems to be a really odd stomach bug that was going around. Hopefully your little guy will follow the same route and will be fine soon.

My first thought is a possible ear infection.

My kids have never thrown up from this, but I have heard they can.

Could he possibly have GERD? This is a reflux issue. It dont know ton about it, but they did think my middle guy had issues with this awhile back.

I would see the pedi. if he has not stopped at about a weeks time...If it is still going on.

There are viruses where you throw up once in maybe 24 hours, act and feel normal all the next day, then throw up again. My daughter had it: Seemed fine, perky, playing, no fever, vomited, another fine day, vomited 22 hours later...

First I'd figure it's a virus, which means he is contagious and shouldn't be around other kids -- sorry, but exposing him to other kids will spread it, even if he feels and acts fine and isn't vomiting at that time.

Second, I'd get him to the pediatrician now to check him out and see if the ped. thinks it is indeed a virus, or reflux (does he only vomit after he's been lying down? Definitely something to tell the doc if that's the case) or possibly some form of allergy. I would think the almond milk would have cleared his system by now and I would also figure that if he were allergic t that, the results would not be vomiting with a whole day between episodes.

How your son is acting, lack of fever, etc. have little to do with whether he has a virus, reflux etc. Keep him away from other kids, keep the bathroom etc. where he's been vomiting extra clean and get him to the doctor today or tomorrow.

My daughter does that when her asthma flares up because she is coughing in her sleep and throwing up.

My younger daughter did that once when she had strep and ear infections. It was only at night. I think maybe because of all the congestion.

Is he teething? Maybe he's gagging on his own drool. Seasonal allergies all the post nasal drip can make you pukey. He could just have a mild stomach virus.

It is a virus. My kids have had these before (been a while, though). But it is a virus so it should go away in a few days. I guess it can last up to a few weeks though, so I'd keep an eye on him. Hope it's gone soon!

Could he be eating anything that could give him indigestion. If it is severe it can cause you to throw up but only at night when you are laying down.

Other than that I got nothing.
