HI! My son loves animals. I am looking to purchase one of the animal games for the DS like, "Animal Genius," "Zoo Hospital," "Zoo Vet," etc, etc. My son is 10-years-old and knows a lot about animals. I do not want to buy them all, so can you recommend one game over another?? Thanks!

My daughter is animal crazy and loves Zoo Tycoon, and her Nintendogs game. My son loves Sims Creator and Sims Kingdom. He gets to create a city that has problems just like real cities do.

How about Animal Crossing? The characters are animals and they live in a town. My kids love it because the characters get to take care of the town by running errands for others, picking fruit off of the trees, fishing, etc. It's one of our favorite games here!

I do not know which is better, but if you do not already, go to Gamestop and buy them used. They will be alot cheaper, and when he is done with them, you can trade them back to them for credit towards new games.

If you purchase the games used from GameStop, they can be returned within five days for another game. So, you'll be safe rather than sorry and you'll get a bargain! We often will go this route for the Wii Games. All their games are guaranteed, so no worries. GameStops are all over the place. They always have tons of selection, and each GameStop has different inventory just in case you can't find what you're looking for.

What about Nintendogs? You could get a used game from GameStop and you get to pick what kind of dog, like Dalmation, etc.

A good non-animal game is Magnetica which is kind of hard to find. You match up the magnets, no shooting, hitting things, etc. My kids love it.

I buy all DS games from Amazon that are used and cheap. You can also read the reviews to see which ones are good.

I would read reviews at amazon. They say animal genius is for 5-7 year old. You can always rent first at Blockbuster. Good luck.

Nintendogs is about taking care of pets; brushing, bathing, take for walk, etc. I'm not sure a 10 year old boy would spend a lot of time on it.

Petz2 for dogs is not as good as Nintendogs, my kids never play it.

Zoo Tycoon is awesome. Building enclosures, cleaning up the poop, hiring zoo keepers. We have that one on the PC.

Animal Genius is too young for your son.

I asked my kids...never heard of the ones you listed but zoo tycoon is said to be fun (they make their own zoos with endangered animals. Also, nintendogs is fun but is about training, adopting, and taking care of dogs.

I don't know anything about the games that you are thinking about buying for your son. What I do know though, is that if he takes his DS to Game Stop they will let him try the games while he is there. That's a great way for him to see what he likes. They are also very knowledgable about the games. Good luck.
