Dry Skin Please Help.
My husband works on A/c and he works outside during these hot days. He had a dry patch on his back that has spread to his whole back. he has been doing this for 11 yrs and this will be the first time that he has gotten the dry skin. Would any one knows why he would get this and how to treat it. I have put lotion, baby oil, hydro.1% and nothing seems to work. I use Gain and sometime Downty on the clothes .I don't know what started this problem nor how to fix it,

Hi J.,
Are you sure it's not a rash or allergic reaction? If it's not, and/or Benedryl doesn't do it, you may want to call a dermatologist. Dr. Blackburn in Dallas is awesome! He's over by Southwest Medical Center. Other things to try are Lubiderm lotion, Cetaphil soap...things like that. Hope this helps.

If you think it might be a fungal infection, he definitely needs to go to the doctor. It sounds like eczema to me. For that, I would definitely recommend Renew lotion. All 3 of my boys use it and it is the best out there!

I second the Renew lotion. It's worked on my husband, who had horribly dry and cracked legs.

Renew lotion is wonderful...it'll definitely work!! I also use laundry products that have no chemicals or toxins in them, so that helps with any issues too.
Good luck!

Cetaphil bar soap and lotion. Worked wonders for my son who had EXTREMELY dry skin.

Hi- I "third" the renew lotion and bath oil. I actually had a "dry" patch on my face. I thought it was age spots but remembered years ago I had what is described as a "fungus" on my back. It was caused by the heat and stresses. They gave me a creme with cortisone in it- that can work but requires a prescription and can get costly. This time I remembered the Tea Tree oil in Melaleuca oil was anti-fugal. I used it on cotton on my face then Renew lotion- like a charm it lilttle by little has gone away- also recommend using detergents that have no phosphates or formaldehydes. We use Melapower- if you are interested in knowing where to get these- private email me. Good luck
