Hello all,
I am wanting to know some secrets for dry skin. My son only has it on his hands. Let me explain the skin on his hands. First of all he "sucks" his thumb and fist as well as chews on them. They are red and rough. I put baby lotion on them and it doesnt help. Of course with him chewing on them i can't put anything on them that will harm him. Any baby lotion other than Johnsons that will help? I don't want to stop him from sucking his thumb at this point i just want to help his little red chafted hands.

What can I do next?

I work in dermatology (and am the mom of a 7 month old) and the best thing I know of is Aquaphor healing ointment. It's made by Eucerin and is fabulous. It comes in a stand up tube and can be found in the lotions aisle. It can be put on the face as well. My husband and I also use it on our hands because we wear powdered gloves everyday at work which dries them out.

Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream!
My daughter had eczema on her back when she was an infant and this worked great! When my hands are really dry I mix a little of the night cream with Mary Kay hand cream. Very soft and not greasy.
Let me know if you are interested in it - I am a Mary Kay Consultant!

you can try some Lansinoh. It is recommended for dry, chapped, nipples on nursing mothers but I have used it on my own chapped hands and it's really great. If you can put it on his hands before he goes to sleep at night with socks on his fists to keep them covered it works even better. Good luck!
