Hello,

My 2 1/2 yr old has dry scalp. Just like the babies. I have 4 kids and the 3 older never had this problem at such a later age of a newborn. Any suggestions to get rid of this. It's mainly on side of her head not on the top. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would get the adult shampoo for dry scalp and that should take care of it. Obviously, just be extra careful with rinsing.

My daughter got the same thing at that age and the ped said they can get cradle cap still. We used the Mustella shampoo for newborns to treat cradle cap and it worked!

Hi there! Whenever my 4 year old's skin or hair have issues, I always go to the Aveeno baby shampoos and lotions. Always works like a charm! So gentle and with the oatmeal it soothes itch if any. Or you can try a deep conditioner like the Aussie 3 minute, love that one, smells great and is a good price too! A leave in conditioner may help as well. Try the Loreal for kids tangle tamer detangler, works great.

My daughter has had the same thing; pretty much a consistent problem since she was a baby. Once she was old enough to really lean her head back and not get it in her eyes, we started using Head and Shoulders with conditioner in it (our ped had said to use it) and we haven't had a problem since. I didn't want to use it when she could get it in her eyes since it isn't tear free. I just kind of rub/massage it in and it worked great -- and NO tangles. Good luck!!

my stylist recommended a tea tree oil shampoo for me. Bought it at Great Clips. :)

I actually did a pure coconut oil rub on my daughters scalp, let it soak and then massaged the scaly areas with a wet washcloth. Olive oil, etc would probably work, I just prefer oil that is food grade, worked great!
