Hi L. P,
A friend tells me that they use alocohol pads where she works. I hope this helps you.
Good Luck, Gramma B
Does anyone know how to remove dry erase marker from the wall?! My four year old colored our kitchen wall with black dry erase marker!! We tried magic eraser and clorox wipes, but they did not take it off. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Hi L. P,

My husband showed me that with a permanent marker, if you take the same marker and go over the area that has the mark, and wipe it with a cloth it will come off. You can try it to see if it works.
I have a product that I used when my grandson used magic marker on his wall. I would be glad to send you some
I haven't tried this for dry eraser, but for several other things and it has worked- try putting a dab of soft scrub with bleach on a towel (dont' use paper towel or sponge-it needs the grit of the towel). We've used it on several things that nothing else seemed to work. Just last week we used that technique to get ink out of our dryer and it worked. The entire inside of our dryer was covered in blue. Just be careful because if you scrub too hard the grit can damage your paint job.
Lately I've been trying to switch to non-chemical cleaners in the house, and I found a "recipe" for a multi-purpose solution that worked well on my walls (and my greasy, dusty kitchen blinds!) when other things did not. They called it a "glass cleaner," but I use it on EVERYTHING:
2 cups water
1/2 tsp dishwashing soap or laundry detergent
3 tablespoons vinegar
Combine in a spray bottle, shake well. Be sure to use a W. cloth on the wall, because when I used a red handkerchief there was a slight pink streak left behind.
Hope this helps. I love it.

Hey L.,
Isn't funny how something called dry erase is impossible to remove??? I just don't get it.
Any-who. Try rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer. You may have to retouch the paint on the wall...sometimes the alcohol in both will dossolve a bit of the paint. If you already used the magic eraser you probably removed a bit of paint already anyway.
Good luck!
Try glass cleaner or an all purpose cleaner. I found that magic eraser doesn't work at all on anything.
You may want to try hair spray- the cheaper the better in my experience--this would usually work well for sharpie markers, too, when I was teaching elementary school. Just spray the area, wait a few minutes and scrub...although, I would test a less obvious area first if you have a paint color that may come off, too. Good luck!
Hi L.,
We use straight rubbing alcohol where I work. But when in doubt my husband & I found that baby wipes work on almost anything!! We found that out when we had small children,,,now grown 18 & 13 years, we still keep baby wipes in the house & trailer. We've gotten things like auto grease, oil & lipstick out of things with them before!!
Good luck ~ J.
Hi L.,
Magic Eraser works for pretty much anything on the walls.
I've had luck with rubbing alcohol on other stains. Good luck.
Try fantastic, Googone, airisaol hairspray, or murphys oil soap. I believe I had that issue once and I think either fantastic or even a baby wipe worked. Best of luck!
I once read that a dry Bounce sheet gets anything off drywall. Not sure if it is a new one or one that has been already used through the dryer.
Hope it works....
You may want to try hairspray. Spray some on a paper towel or rag, then wipe the marker. Hairspray also takes out ball point pen from cloth, when the cloth is pre-treated before washing.
Try a baby wipe! It's worked on hundreds of "stains" at my home. (Just think what it does to our little one's tooshies!)
Goof-off works. I used it at my daycare for the same thing. You can get it at most stores like Meijer, Menards and ect. just call the store before you go since they don't always have it in stock.
I use a product called Sol-u-mel to remove permanent marker and crayon. It takes it right off (use it on my dry erase board also)

i would try shaving cream smeared in and wiped off that is how we clean our dry erase boards at school i dont know if it will work on the wall but it can't hurt to try. also if you go to a office supply place the sell special stuff to clen the dry erase however it is expensive so try the shaving cream first . also my grandchildren got marker on our wall white wall we tryed magic erase bleach nothing worked until we sprayed the wall with awesome from the dollar store.
If none of these other suggestions work, Expo makes a white board cleaner for dry erase markers. It could work. You can get this at office supply places if your Wal-Mart or Meijer does not carry it.
My husband has used WD-40 on the wall for crayon and marker. They sell it in a pen now too like the tide to go.
