Dry, Cracked Feet - HELP!

I don't know what's going on. The bottom of ONE foot is so dry, cracked and ocassionally gets "cut". It started last summer when I was pregnant. I bought better shoes after researching that sometimes with age we lose the fat on the bottom of our feet and that flip flops and unsupportive shoes may contribute to the problem since feet smash down and flatten causing the cracks.

I have used a pumice stone, and all the pedicure things I can. I can't END this dry, cracked skin. I apply Vit E, Aloe, etc. It provides much needed moisture, but if I don't do this all the time, it comes right back.

Has anyone else delt with this? I have no idea how or why I have this problem.

Try a product called Bag Balm. I learned about it from old time farmers who used it on their dry cracked hands, not to mention the livestock, lol. Great Stuff, I have gotten it at CVS before. 1 Green can of of lasts forever. Put it on at night and wear old socks, because it is greasy.

I have the same issue and for years I have been embarrased to even wear sandals.
I bought one of those pedi-eggs. They are little cheese graters for your feet. I got mine at Walmart. I started with just one foot thinking it wouldn't work. Well it did. I used it for about a month and after each time I used it I put some creme from ULTA on my heels. It's called Nighttime Heel Treatment Creme.
THis actually worked for me. My heels were so cracked they would bleed. My feet have pretty much stayed soft. I quit about two weeks ago. But I know what works when they start getting bad again.

If it's only one foot I'd be concerned it might be something medical.

To help heal the cracks/cuts I recommend the cracked heal cream by Avon. I would also recommend applying cream to your feet every night before bed and wearing socks to keep the moisture in.

Mom on the GO

Let me first start out by saying that I am not a doctor nor a nurse but this advice is from personal experience. It could be a very common, yet persistent fungal infection. To rule it out, call your doctor. If indeed it's an infection, your doctor can give you an inexpensive prescription ointment. If you are dilgent about its application, it should clear up easily. Good luck!

hi
being a sandals person myself, it was hard to cure this problem.. basically, it has taken my NOT wearing opened toed shoes so as not to expose my feet to the elements which is really what drys the foot... and moisturizing every night and of all things, wearing socks.... oh I hate socks!! :) but I am glad to have the dry heals gone. it does take awhile....... but try that... it could work..

If this is the case with only one foot, I'd get a medical opinion. You may have an infection of some sort.
