In Watauga, on Watauga Road, just east of 377 on the left there is a place called Creative Soul. Don't know for sure that they do drums, but they do guitar and piano for sure. It's about 1/4 mile east of Denton Hwy.

You must check out Rock School in Southlake off 114 (not far from Southlake Town Square). I know the owner & his family personally and any 12 yr old would think he (Mike Mroz) is sooo cool. And, actually, he is pretty cool. Here is their website:

They have a fantastic music program. My son has been taking drum lessons there and loves it. The very first day, he sat down with a drum set. The instructor works on teaching him based on the music he wants to play. Plus, they have rock bands and concerts. Highly recommend for drums, guitar, and other non-school instruments.

If you want something affordable, you may want to consider hiring an older teenager to teach your son. When my son was 11, he wanted to play drums, and that is what we did. It worked out GREAT! He got some good instruction at a very affordable price. We didn't want to spend a lot on something that may not have lasted.......

Now over six years later, he is still a BIG drummer and in a small band. Hiring that teenager to teach my son was the best thing we ever did! And, teenagers are always looking for ways to earn money - especially doing something they love!
