Drapery Repair

I recently took down floor-to-ceiling drapes to have them cleaned. Unfortunately the sun has ruined the backing and my dry cleaners won't clean the drapes for fear the backing will turn to dust.

So my question is: Are there any drapery workshops anymore? Or, someone who makes draperies? I want to have new backing put on the existing drapes rather than replace them. I need someone in the DFW area.

(Please no criticism of my cleaners or recommendation for a new one! I'm very happy with my current cleaners!)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I had some wonderful advice. And, while I did ask for no cleaner recommendations, that's exactly what happened and I'm terribly grateful. I did seek another cleaner who specializes in drapery cleaning and they were able to clean the drapes quickly and beautifully. The drapes are now hanging back where they belong. Thanks to all those who took the time to answer!

I commend your cleaners for their honesty! Kudos to them. I hope you find the help.

Hmmm..
Two ideas:
1)Fabric Factory or Calico Corners on Inwood maybe could help you or point you in the right directions.

They would probably be on the pricey side.

2) Seamstress:
I have no idea what the hourly rate is, but you could get the lining at JoAnns and if you use one of their coupons, the lining would not be too expensive. It shouldn't be too hard to replace the lining so it shouldnt take a crazy amount of time.
