I second Dr. Badr. He is great...I have sent my husband and mother to him and they have been very happy as well.

I second Dr David Parks. I went to him like 6 years ago for a colonoscopy. He also (or had) an office in Presby Plano Hospital

I have a gene for Lynch syndrome, a form of hereditary colon (and other) cancers. I use Dr. Badr at Presby Plano for my colonoscopies.

I've had several colonoscopies, and his was the easiest (easiest 'clean-out' stage & best dosing of anaesthesia -- wasn't sleepy afterwards).

Also, have you considered genetic testing or spoken to a really knowledgable hereditary cancer doc? There are different forms of hereditary colon cancer, and some put you at risk for other specific forms of cancer. I've worked with the hereditary cancer institute at Creighton U. in Nebraska (your primary doctor could send blood samples and family history to them for analysis) and received specific guidelines for what sort of screening tests (in addition to colonoscopies) I should receive and how often. I'm a huge believer in screening, because most cancers are very treatable in the early stages. My dad has had 6 completely separate (i.e. not one spread from the other) tumors in various places and he's currently cancer free and has only needed chemo twice -- because all but the first 2 were caught in the very early stages b/c he knew about his disease and undergoes very frequent screenings.

Good luck!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Madala in McKinney/Allen. My sister has been to two GI's and not had NEAR the thoroughness and attention as I got from Madala. She was very thorough! I was very confident in her.

My husband I have both had colonoscopies with Dr. Jason Edling in Plano. He is with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants off Parker Rd. across from Plano Presby. He's very thorough and takes time to discuss the issues. His number is ###-###-####. Glad you are getting this taken care of, and best of luck!

Dr. Do at Plano Presby is one of my favorite doctors. More thorough than anyone I've ever been to.

I just had one done by Dr Agha for the same reasons last week. He was great. He has an office near Willow Bend Mall. This is also where they do the procedures too. The prep and procedure were not bad at all. The prep was the hardest part, but not horrible at all. Good luck!
