I used them with my son and will be using them with my second son due in 3 weeks. I love them. Yes, there are more pieces to wash but it's worth it. My son had really bad gas which made him cranky until we switched to the Dr Brown's bottles. He never latched so I had to pump and bottle feed. My sister is a pediatrician and she also recommends them and uses them with her newborn. They come in both glass bottles and BPA free bottles.

They are miracle workers. My son suffered with reflux as a newborn. His pediatrician suggested these, and we haven't had a problem since. I highly recomend them.

Hi. My friend just had a baby in A. and she switched from Dr. Brown to Parents Choice(Wal-Mart Brand) after 3 months. She couldn't tell any difference between the two brands.

Hi A. I have used Dr Brown bottles. I used them for my now four year old and she had colic extremely BAD, when we started using them I could see a difference nothing major but she was eating more and sleeping a little. My second child has no problems or signs of problems colic, but we have still used the bottles on her and she takes them very well. I have noticed that if the bottle has any air or air bubbles it stays in the tube of the bottle while she eats and I have always used them and they are expensive but I feel like they worked:) Hope this works!!

My stepdaughter used them and my niece used them. All I could see is that they were a pain in the butt to use and cost too much. I used the Parent's Choice bottle for both of my children. My children are 3 1/2 and 1. The one year old used her brother's hand me down bottles. They hold up better and there are no valve to try to clean and replace. I never did figure out how to clean my granddaughter's bottles.

My nephews that I used to babysit for use Dr. Brown's. They are good bottles and they really do prevent gas. There are more parts to clean, but it's worth it if you're worried about gas.
I breastfed my daughter, but when she used a bottle a few times a week, we used Avent. They worked well for her. We never had any problems with gas.

I have used them and they did help decrease my son spitting up but it didn't totally end. I would use the playtex with disposable inserts if I had it to do all over....they helped just as much. I switched when I found our Dr Brown's were made with BPA.
W.C. answers from Lexington on November 18, 2008
Every mom I know uses either those or the playtex with liners. both seem to work, altho the dr brown's is slightly better. however, there is still concern of carcinogens leaking into the milk if it's at all warm with the plastic liners. Thus, if prefer to avoid the toxins, dr brown's is best. If that doesn't bother you (I know some moms who do whatever because science is always changing it's opinion and thus whatever YOU as a mom think is best for your child and your family IS best), then I'd recommend you go with the playtex. It's what we used.....I figured since we only buy organic, chemical-free food/drink and use only unbleached, chemical free diapers it would even out.
Again, the answer as usual is do what's best for you and your family :)
