Infant Double Stroller Recommendations

I have used both the side by side and the front to back. For me it was easier to use the front to back b/c you could use the infant car seat until they were both over 1. Then I switched to the side by side. Keep in mind that the side by side stroller the kids will be able to touch and kick each other so be prepared. I believe that they so make the side by side stroller with the infant car sear however I personally dont think it would be worth the money. Oh and one more thing. Side by side strollers are really hard to use in stores b/c they are wide and hard to fit through the isles. Hope this helps.

I have a 5mos old and a 19mos old. When I first learned of us being pregnant again, well I cried a little- Anyway we started looking at double strollers. After seeing so many in the malls and those women trying to steer them, and then my own experience in stores trying to shop with just a single stroller. I decided that the front and back would be easier then the side by side. The aisles in stores are not made for strollers, but they are definitely not made for side by side double strollers...

I had the side by side and it was a pain because a lot of times the aisles weren't wide enough.

My second child and my third are 17 months apart also. I picked a double stroller. I would recommend you go and push the storller and see how heavy they are and how easily they turn. Some are a pain to turn with one hand and sometimes I had to carry at least one of the two so I needed the stoller to push and turn easily. I don't think they sell the stroller that I got anymore but it is a Graco. Hope this helps.

Hey A.. I have had both side by side and front to back. I prefer the front to back. It fits so much easier through doorways, and around stores. It's easier to navigate and more sturdier in my opinion. I had high dollar ones in both, so it wasn't a matter of having a cheap one, per say. And, as far as i know, i worked at Babies -r-us, there is not a side by side for an infant seat, and probably never will be. The front to back i had i believe was a Graco that came w/an infant car seat and base. Around $250-$300. That was my favorite. Hope this helps and you can always ask if you would like any more info. look into a sit and stand stroller!! im a nanny and have watched many children, and this stroller is great! your 17 month old might be a little too small for the "sit or stand" part but he doesnt have to stand yet, the stroller will grow with them, once hes 3 ull love that you can still keep him contained! and hell feel special that he can stand and "help", as for now, it has a safty belt to strap him in so its not all that bad and it has the metal part for an infant seat...just my thought if your looking for somehting they can grow with

My two girls are just 20 months apart and I purchased a seat 2 go from burlington coat factory (baby depot). I bought it when my toddler was 20 months and she has done great and as she gets older she can stand up on it or kneel. I just attach it to my regular stroller and that way my car seat attaches for the baby. But the great part is my now 23 month old loves to sit on the seat or if I want to let her walk i don't attach it and so then it's just my regular stroller not some big bulky thing. Also to attach it it only takes about 20 seconds, it is just 3 snaps. My friend that has a double stroller always takes longer to get in and out of her car than we do. I had two different double strollers. The first was an Eddie Bauer version. I can't remember what brand but it was horrible. It was big and heavy and hard to maneuver. I hated it. The only good thing was it had a buckle in the back seat to attach the infant carseat. The one I use now is a Kolcraft. I like it better. It is a little smaller and lighter and slightly easier to push. But there was no way to attach the infant carseat. Both of mine are borrowed so I took what I could get! I would go to Toys R Us or Babies R Us, Sears, Penny's, Target....anywhere that has strollers on display. Push the strollers around, close them, open them...play around with them and see which you like better. That is the only real way to find a good one. And put your 17 month old in it, put a car seat on it, try to see how heavy it will be while you are pushing it. They are all somewhat easy to move when they are empty. It is after putting in the kids that it all goes downhill! I never was able to find one that I fell in love with. I think picking a double stroller is like picking the lesser of the evils! Congratulations on the new baby. I also use the graco duoglider(front to back) but my kids are 2 and 6. I didn't buy it till my little on was 6 months old so i didn't get the one that fits the carseat

I don't know of any side by side strollers that hold the carseat. I used the front to back one while they were in the carrier but then bought a side by side one. I like the side by side one better because most stores it is easier to move the side by side one in without knocking stuff over.

Hi & congrats on the new baby. I have twins and used the front to back. I am not sure it they have a side by side that will accomadate and infant. Anyway, the front to back is easier to get down aisles at stores with vs. the side by side. I used the Graco DuoGlider. Good Luck with the new baby!

My kids were just about the same distance apart as your 2 will be. We got a front to back double stroller with a carseat the pops in. This is the best kind to get as they are more easily to manuver in store aisles. Where as the side by side strollers are a pain in the butt and most of the time do not fit through doorways or aisles. without having to manuever them so how to squeeze through and then you have to watch to make sure little hands dont get pinched between the doorway and the stroller. We got a Graco stroller and Loved it. Also with Graco any of their infant carseat will fit into the stroller if you by them seperately. Hope this helps with your decision.

I went through the same thing you are when trying to choose a double stroller and what I did is I went shopping on line and read the parent reviews of strollers. What I found is you don't want a side-by-side because of having to navigate narrow doorways, aisle, ect. So we bought the front to back because of this. The one we ended up getting was the Graco Duo Glider because it was the best we could find for the money and other parents had recommended it. It also came with the attachable car seat carrier, which was a plus for us because some brands make you purchase that separately. We bought ours from Sears at Coastal Grand Mall, and we like it. COngratulations! I prefer the inline stroller, just because most places the double wide is too awkward...For my girls (ages 1 and 3) we picked out (after several test runs) the Graco Duo Glider and I Love it...it's not too heavy to get in and out of the car and I know they now make it to accommodate a car seat, but we never needed to use ours because the back seat folds all the way down and the foot cushion folds up and latches so you have a bassinet-like seat that is great! And it has so much room underneath to put diaper bag and stuff...I couldn't survive without mine! Good luck!

Congrats on the new baby on the way! I have twins and own both types of strollers. There are the pros & cons to both. The front to back steers alot better, is easier for narrow places, the under basket is bigger and has snack trays to feed the little ones while you shop and sometimes have a cup holder and caddy for mom. But the baby in back can bop & kick the front baby. It is heavy & is hard to fit in some cars.
The side by side on is good to let both kids see everything, they are lighter and is easier to fit into cars. They are hard to steer (even in the wide open spaces), the under basket is smaller, & the kids fight over toys.
You need to test fit the stroller in your car before you buy.
Good luck! Maybe you could compromise & instead of buying one new, you could buy both used and then you'd be spending the same as a new one. That way you could use the one that fit how you need it that day.
I use both strollers, depending on what & where we are going.

I have a front and back double stroller that I think is made by evenflo. Anyway I got it at walmart for around 90 dollars. It works, but it is bulky, and very hard to get stuff in and out of the bottom "net". I haven't tried any of the other ones, this is what I got, so I am stuck with it for now. I just wanted to let you know, that I did not think htat this one was all that great.
This one was however adaptable to just about any infant seat. That was probably my major selling point because I reused my infant carrier from when I had my daughter. Good luck
