Double Stroller Advise for an Older Child

Hello! I am looking for a double stroller that has a deeper seat so that it is comfortable for an older child. I would prefer a side by side, but the ones I have seen have a fairly shallow seat and the foot rest is so close. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Hi D.,

I have a 3 year old and a 2 month old. For those occasions where I've needed a double stroller, I've been using a Joovy stroller where my 3 year old can sit on a bench facing me while my infant is in the front (in his car seat which can be buckled into the stroller). My 3 yr old usually objects to the stroller at first but seems OK once he's situated.

I hope this helps!

I have a 3.5yr and a 1yr old. We use the Joovy stroller for about $150.00. My older daughter loves it because she can sit or stand in it. The younger one loves it as well. You can use any infant seat as well. The joovy uses a car type buckel to strap the seat in. It folds like a single big stroller. Me and my girls love it. I found my at Babies'r us in N. Charleston. Good luck

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. When the baby was smaller, I happened upon a wonderful invention called the Sit N Stand. It has the normal stroller in the front (which has adaptations for infant carriers) and a bench and footrest behind so the bigger kid can either sit on the "jumpseat" facing whoever is pushing, or stand and face front. My daughter loves it because she feels a little more grown up not being strapped into a traditional stroller. I have talked to a couple of people who "can't keep the big kid in" the back, but we just don't let her out! If she happens to get off, we put her back in (just like bedtime!) :) There are also a couple of different brands that are essentially the same thing. I got mine at Target for about $120.

Hi! I have twins and we use two different strollers. The Maclaren twin saavy is great, fits through all kinds of doors, is side by side, but it is a little shallow. However, it reclines to many different positions. You might want to try it out in the store first. We got ours from Baby Bloomers in Towne Center near the Palmetto Grande in Mount Pleasant. The other stroller is a jogger and it is very deep. My twins are still young (14 months) but their feet are way far away from the separate foot rests. It is a Dreamer Design Ditto Lite. We got ours on Ebay. Not sure how great it is going through doors, but is very smooth on pavement! Hope this helps!

try looking at CRAIGSLIST.COM I've found so much stuff there I've needed!!! good luck.

YES! I know exactly where you can find one! Your Turn Kids at 6175 Hickory Flat Hwy (Publix shopping center at East Cherokee and Hwy 140). Prices are the BEST I've ever found on Children's clothing and furniture!

Good Luck!

i have a sit and stand stroller which is designed for a baby and older child. I love it. I got it at Target but I know they sell the same thing at other stores. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

I have a Zooper side by side that I bought off of amazon.com I love it and did alot of research and read reviews on every brand before I decided on this one. I have been happy with it. I have a 27month old and a 6month old. I can recline the baby and my toddler likes to sit upright. Her feet have plenty of room without touching the foot rest at all. I will be able to use this for a long time. I looked into the cheaper brands and more expensive, this was the best according to other peoples reviews. Amazon had the best price and free shipping. Let me know if you want the specifics on it.
