I have two. I have the side by side, the kids pull and poke at each other. It doesn't fit in stores to well. The front to back is great. It will hold the car seat and the kids can both have their space. I highly recommend the front to back.

I have a 19 month old and I'm 8.5 months pregnant. I've been looking at the double strollers and it's a little confusing not to mention expensive. From what I gather you buy the double stroller, then the infant carrier. Of course we got rid of the 19 month old's carrier because we weren't expecting to have another so soon. I'm always so afraid that the carrier won't be compatible with the stroller. Most stores don't display the whole system, all 3pieces, on the floor.
I have decided to use my son's single stroller for him and carry the baby in a sling until he can join his brother in a double. I'm hoping that when the oldest baby is 2.5 he can walk most of the way, thus eliminating the need for a double stroller. I'll probably get a double umbrella for when we do a lot of walking.

Hi N.. I don't remember the exact brand we got my husbands sister, but it's one where the small child sits in the front in or out of the car seat and the older child has the option to sit or stand behind them. We got it because they drive small cars and it's much more compact then alot of double strollers. Hope that helps somewhat.

Good Morning N.!! I also had 2 children back to back!! My sons are 15 months apart, and I searched for a long time before my 2nd child was born to find the right dbl stroller. The one that I ended up purchasing was at Babies R Us, it was made by Graco. You can have the baby in the car seat in the seat closest to you and the older child in frt, but I found that was harder to push it that way, so you can reverse it and have the older child closest to you and the baby in the frt, but still facing you and that way the older child and the baby can face each other!!! This worked out the best for me. Im sure stollers have changed greatly sinec mine where that age, my boys are now 7 and 8 so check withthe sales person.. GOod Luck with the stroller search!

Hey N.,

I am posting only because i didn't really see anything about mine in my quick review of the responses. My two are 2yrs and 4days apart. I couldn't deal with anything bulky or heavy (small car at the time of my sons birth) so i got a double umbrella (DU) by kolcraft.

and i love it!

now if you want to haul a bunch of stuff, or you need drinkholders and trays and all that, or if you want to use it as soon as your new baby arrives, it may not be the best for you. i did what another mum said and used a sling with the baby and pushed my 2yr old in the single stoller till my son was about 10 months to 1 year, then i got the DU for a steal at 60 bucks from amazon.

only thing is now i'm looking for one for my friend cuz she loves mine so much but i can't find it anywhere on line. it's now called the jeep something or other but still made by kolcraft. the other think i liked about this was the shades were much more substantial than what tends to come on even a single umbrella. for travel, walks in the park, or festivals or parades - pretty much just walking for walking's sake - this will work well. for the mall or outings where you need to be able to carry things in the stroller (besides a diaper bag and a couple of shopping bags - while kids are seated! :) - then you may want to get the tandem model.

hope this helps!

I definitely recommend a double stroller. My children are 18 months apart....I would put my oldest up front and the youngest in the back. I couldn't have imagined trying to push, load and unload 2 strollers. Two little ones is challenging enough! But it works out great as they get older. MIne play together all the time. The worst part is having both in diapers!...but you'll do great, i'm sure!

Hi N.,
I have the duo glider for my 6 month old twin girls, works well with my two, same size though. The back part folds all the way down to a laying position and the front would be good for your toddler. The only thing im not crazy about it is that the sitting position for infants isn't that great is sets them too high and until they learned how to hold there own heads up it wasn't of much use without their car carriers. Which you could also use. Hope this helps and best of wishes to you and your family with your new addition.

Dear N.,

I had twins and the stroller I used was a front and back one. It folded easily and was easy to use in department stores and in doorways. I never used the side by side......To me it was not practical.

Go to www.findstrollers.com to view a variety of strollers. The stroller I used is expensive.

Good luck in your search,

G. H.

Hi N., I have 3 kids, each 23 months apart and I've used my Graco Duo glider with all of my kids. As far as a double stroller goes, it's light weight and compatable with our infant car seat. I considered a sit 'n stand and it seemed lake a great deal for occasional use, but didn't like that my older one had no option to lay down if they are tired. My duoglider also fits more easily into the back of a car or van that some of the bulkier ones.

Congrats and good luck!

Hi N.,

I have a "Sit N Stand Stroller" by Baby Trend. I really like it. I use it for my 3 and 1 year old. I got it when they were 2 and new born. I also bought the infant carrier that goes with it. You can get them at Target. It has good reviews from consumer report. Hope this helps.

Also I read your "About me" and it sounds that you are a health consious mom. May I ask if you shop with Melaleuca?

Hi N.,

My name is C., and I have 2 girls that are 20 months apart. It was hard at the beggining but it's so great now. They are 6 and almost 8. They do everything together, almost like having twins.

I got the Peg Perego dbl stroller. I loved it. Although it is big and a bit heavy it was so delux for them. Both could ride and sleep in comfort anytime. Where do you live? I got mine at Baby Love in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Are you working or staying home iwth your little ones? I thought I would mention I am involvled in an awesome home based business which allows me to stay home with my girls as well as having a great income. Maybe it would be something for you to consider or explore. If you are interested in hearing more I am happy to talk to you about it. Hi,

I got the Peg Perego Aria (side by side) double stroller for my boys, which are almost 3 years apart. I do not recommend it at all. It's tough to steer, and the basket on the bottom is useless. What I have been using is the bugaboo stroller, with an attachment on the back called the wheeled board. It's great, as it keeps both kids contained. Maybe that wouldn't be an option for you right now as your older child is still very little, but I got it when my son was about 3 1/2 and it's the best. They also make it for other strollers, as an attachment. Good luck!

I have the sit and stand model from One Step Ahead and LOVE it. My older one likes the fact that he can stand or sit. It come with and attachment that works with any model infant carrier. The other great thing is it narrow enough to fit through most places.

Hi N. I hope I am not late... here is a different one I am about to buy (By the wqay I have the side by side peg prego and it is USELESS!!!) it is called Phill and Teds. It is a European concept and we tried it out in the store and I loved it. It is very pricey but I saw a used one in ebay. http://www.philandteds.com/nz/sportdouble_07_1.htm
The only reason I dont like the graco is that it is very heavy and can get hard to maneuver.
