Infant Double Stroller Advice

I have 4 yr old twin boys and have used the Graco Duo Glide since they were born. You can not go wrong with this stroller. You can steer it with one hand easily, it folds up easily. It has many extras (canopys, snack trays, etc). Most of the extras are removable to make more room for the darlings as they grow. Seriously, you will love it. It may even work with the infant car seat you have.

I know exactly the struggle you're going through with trying to make the best purchase when it comes to a double stroller...I did MONTHS of research because I was terrified of having buyers remorse. I never did make a purchase, but that's only because our son will be almost 3.5 when the baby comes, plus he's due in mid-October, so I doubt we'll have many outings during the winter months. However, when the time does come that we need to pull the trigger on a stroller purchase I know exactly what I'm going to get... :o)

Don't completely rule out the sit-n-stand. Baby Trend makes one called "Sit-n-Stand Deluxe - (note that this is different than the "Sit-n-Stand Plus"). The Deluxe works like a regular tandem double stroller, where both kids have seats with shades, BUT the back seat can easily be taken off and the stroller can act like a regular sit-n-stand when the older sibling is ready. The transition from tandem double stroller to traditional sit-n-stand stroller is SO easy that you can switch back and forth between the two - we had one of the sales associates at Babies R Us show us how it works.

I don't have it yet... but I'm saving up for the City Mini double stroller. It is AMAZING!!! I don't know if you live anywhere near Great Beginnings in Gaithersburg MD, but they are awesome and have probably 100 strollers on the floor that you can fool with and look at. Also the most knowledgeable sales people who don't try to sell you up to the next most expensive thing. ---- Also, just a note... everytime I see someone in public with one of these strollers I ask them if they love it and they give me a 5 minute speech on how awesome it is. i've had a bizillion double strollers (I'm due w/ baby #4 in jan.). the best double i've ever owned was a phil and teds sport. It's a little $$$ but worth it in my oponion as it can be a single or double. steering is awesome, one handed and very menuverable. i think this stroller is especially great for siblings closer in age. only thing is it isn't supposed to hold a carseat in doubles mode (although i did this all the time and had no problems). they do have a graco adapter but i believe it is extra $. I sold mine just months ago and am bummed because i found out shortly afterwards i was preggers again! oh well. maybe i'll get another one!
i know you said you don't want a sit and stand but joovy recently came out with a new caboose called the ergo caboose. your older child can actually sit in the front seat AFTER baby is born because there is a car seat attachment on the rear bench/standing area. and the basket is huge! I'm also looking into this. i haven't seen one in person yet though. the reviews are pretty good.
i found the graco doubles to be huge and bulky! they're also really hard to turn. my big thing is being able to steer w/ one hand so i can have the other available to hold another child's hand or phone or whatever! i'm not a fan of these long strollers.
there are some great side by sides but they're hard to get in and out of small aisles in stores. i loved the baby planet double and the peg perego aria.
one thing i've found during hours and hours of stroller research is there is no such thing as the perfect double (and this is why i've had sooo many). but in my opinion the phil and teds is as close as it gets. hope this helps!

Phil and Ted's! Lightweight, versatile (seats can be in many different positions including laying flat- GREAT for newborns), stylish, easy to clean, easy to handle, and I also use mine for a jogger! I have the sport one. Highly recommended by this mom of four!

Graco DuoGlider. Great stroller, has everything you need (canopy, snack tray, etc.) for two and your infant car seat can snap right into the front or back seat. Both seats also recline with the back one reclining all the way down.

We have the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller and have used it the last 18 months. It is a great stroller, durable and plenty of storage space underneath. It folds easy, isn't too heavy (double strollers aren't light by any means though) and it is fairly easy to manuever. It has a cup holder and snack tray for each child and two cup holders for the parents, along with a small zipper pack for keys and cell phone. The innovative handles curve upward so it works well for taller individuals and husbands. It comes with canopies for both the front and the back passenger and they front one is removable. You can put the baby carseat either in the front, with the provided attachment bar or in the rear.

That said, I do have two complaints about it. There isn't a way to "wash" the front seat, the back has a removable, washable cover and the front does not. The second, the front wheels often change to the "non swivel" position on their own if you bump into something.

All in all it was and is a great investment for our two boys, I have a boy who will be 4 in October who still needs to be pushed when we walk for long periods of time and a boy who will be 2 next February. It will work with your Snugride Carseat too so that's an additional bonus.

I was a nanny for ten years and took care of twins/triplets. I am NOT a fan of the Peg Pergo double strollers, they are akward and hard to navigate.

Another recommendation for the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. This stroller is great for just about anything - folds super easy, lightweight, turns on a dime. My daughter is 3.5 and my son is 3 months. I waited until recently but was able to place my son in the stroller without a car seat b/c it reclines flat. You can also purchase a car seat adaptor, but I chose not to.

If you are looking for a stroller that is more of an all terrain, then I'd look at the Baby Jogger Classic or Elite.
