Double Stroller - New Caney,TX
My daughter will be 18mths when the new baby is born. I was wondering if there was a double stroller that would work for us. I have seen the sit n stand(?) at BabiesRUs, but not really sure if that would be a good option for us. Do you have any suggestions?

My two are 18 months apart....we went for the graco double, one in front of the other. The baby was in the seat that can snap on and off and works as the infant car seat and the older one sat in the front seat...the carrier is in the back seat until they are old enough to sit. This stroller was a life saver, as an 18 month old is still a baby and the sit and stand they can fall or they get tired. We had trays for both seats and a huge covered hood as well. Used this stroller forever for everyday and travelling....still used it even when they were preschool for travelling. Passed it on to another Mom when we were thru.Well worth the investment! You will be happy! Have fun with the two babies! They grow up so fast...mine are 2nd and 3rd grade now.

I recently got the Baby Trend Deluxe Sit-n-stand as it is a double stroller that can convert to a sit & stand. Thus, you can use it either way. 18 mo is a little young for a sit & stand (not recommended until at least 2.5 years). My oldest was 2 years when my 2nd was born. Love this stroller. Can put the car seat in front or back seat. I got mine at Target, but it is available through a number of places.
Good luck.

I just posted this on another double stroller question. Hope it helps!
When I looked at double strollers, the most important aspect for me was one that allowed my infant carrier to click in. That way, I wouldn't have to unstrap the baby from the car and re-strap him into the stroller seat while he was sleeping. You will need things as easy as possible when you add your baby to the mix!
I have a Graco DuoGlider and was able to use my existing infant carrier. I loved that it had TONS of storage space under the seats (I could fit my over-stuffed diaper bag, a lunch pack for snacks, and a golf umbrella!) Plus the back seat is higher than the front...so when your baby is ready to sit upright, s/he can see over your toddler's head.
Be aware -- there are a couple different types of the Graco DuoGliders and they each have a different weight. Some come with a new infant carrier, but I bought the lightest DuoGlider in which I could use my existing infant carrier. They didn't match...but that didn't matter to me.
I might have considered a sit-and-stand if my firstborn had been MUCH older (she was 15 months when my son was born). The sit-and-stand offers a huge amount of "freedom" for the firstborn. I found it was nerve-racking to keep track of two little ones in a busy, public place (the mall, the zoo, etc.) and it was a lifesaver for me that I could strap them both into the stroller. Once they experience a little freedom, you'll never get them back into stroller.

I purchased the Graco DuoGlider when I was expecting our 2nd--my first was not quite 2 1/2, and he still loved sitting in the stroller. Funnily enough, when we had our 3rd and he was 5, he and his younger sister fought over who was going to sit in the stroller with the new baby! It's a heavy stroller, but it was easier to steer than a lot of the other double strollers out there. My sister-in-law's Baby Trend double stroller was horrible to steer.

the sit and stand says not to put a toddler standing in the back till 2 i think and I was worried about my older one falling off or something. So i looked into the ines that can start aas a double with 2 seats and transition into a sit n stand but my cousin had one and her 30 mos old could barely fit in the back where the big kid is suppossed to sit
So after about 6 mos of research I ended up get and umbrella style side by side double stroller from babies r us the car seat doesnt clip it and thats a bit in convient but the seat does lay flat so its not a huge deal given how little time they are in the carseat. Also the sunshades are horribly tiny.

My oldest two are 20 months apart. We had a small car (Honda Civic) so most dual strollers were too big to fit in our trunk. Plus, I wanted a stroller I could easily lift into the trunk while holding at least one child. We went with a tandem umbrella stroller. The back would recline and was convertible for infant through toddler and the front was stationary sit-up. There was one large canopy that could cover both kids. The stroller was light-weight (nice when pushing two) and easy to fold. The manufacturer says the back was for 6 weeks and up, but we found that it reclined as far as the infant car seats and with extra padding stuffed around the baby it was useful much earlier. Another plus was that my older son could crawl in the front seat easily if he was walking and tired out.
It was an Eddie Bauer stroller - similar to these 2:

I know they are a little expensive, but Phil and Teds makes a great stroller. I have one and love it. It's a walking stroller so its good if I want to get out and get some exercise.

I don't have a recommendation, however, I wouldn't suggest the Sit N Stand if your oldest will only be 18 months. I think it's more appropriate when you have a 3 year old. I don't think you'll want your 18 month old to have that much freedom. I had the sit N stand and loved it but I don't think it's the best option for your child's age. Good luck and congrats.

Combi Twin Sport - easy to maneuver and get through doors and aisles, light, folds small, comfortable for the kids. Its a side-by-side, and I liked it a whole lot better than the Graco Duoglider.

My daughter will be 26 months old when her baby sister is born. I haven't looked into the double stroller much, but I have looked into the sit n stand ones. I like the fact that they are compact and can still hold 2 children. The one I've decided on getting, when it's time, is the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. While a little pricey, it is the most compact folding as well as the _lightest_ sit n stand on the market. If you go to Baby Earth (over behind IKEA in Round Rock, TX), they have a bunch of different strollers (including the Joovy Ultralight) in stock that you can try out in the store.
The Stroller Depot site has review videos on their site as well as on You Tube.

I hope you find something that works for your kids.
