Double Stollers...

I have a newborn and a 2 year old and I am looking to get a double stroller for the girls. I don't usually bring a stroller to stores, but rather use it to walk around the neighborhood. I have a sedan and my trunk is not that big, but I would like to be able to get the stoller in there if I need to so I can't get anything HUGE! I would like to pay about $150-200 for the stroller. Any recommendations or advice??

I recommend the sit and stand stroller. You can buy it at target. I just love it. The newborn is in the front and the two year old can sit and be buckled, or can stand up and hold on to the built in handles. The stroller also handles really well.

Hello M.,
My name is W. and I am looking to get rid of my double jogger. I bought it last year and only used it a couple of times. I bought it for my one year old and 4 year old but after I bought it my 4 year old learned to ride his bike without training wheels so he did not have to ride in the jogger any more!! Lucky me, right?? So, if you are interested, I will sell it for $125, new is almost $200.00 with tax. Let me know if you are interested, it is a very nice jogger with handle breaks, storage underneath and it folds.
Thanks, W.

Graco double stroller is inexpensive and works well. I used it for my two they were 13 months apart. Do not get the one with the seats side by side it is to wide in most situations and is very diffcult to get in and out of trunks. Hope this helps....CAT

There are some compact models out there. I personally have a Sit and Stand LX, and I've seen lots of moms with them walking at the mall. I found it at Wal-Mart for about $100. It comes with a removable bar for carrying carseat for baby. As baby grows, s/he can sit in the seat instead. The older child can sit in the rear with a buckle or stand on the platform and hold the handles with a different buckle that goes behind the child's back. It closes with one had and folds pretty small compared to many I've seen. This may or may not be what you want, but remember, when you do go shopping for your new stroller, make sure you fold and unfold it a few times, to make sure you can do it comfortably. Pick it up, roll it around, make sure it will fit in your trunk (bring your tape measure if you need to). You won't want to find out you don't like it or can't handle it after you buy it. Good luck.

get one of the older models used on craigslist.org that don't have trays for child or parent they fold up smaller than a single stroller.

or the new graco duo that folds up the size of a single which i love.

if you like side by side strollersthymake those to fold small like umbrella strollers.

hope this helps,

I recommend looking at consignment stores for a side by side. They fold up to a pretty small size (esp. combi). Check first to see if you can put a baby car seat in one of the seats (if you want to use it right away. The front to back ones are heavier and bigger, but they do hold infant seats, and the older kid can't reach the younger one. I had a Graco front/back, but it was very heavy. Also consider getting one with a decent sized basket for all that gear!

I have a sit and stand stroller that I got for my children that are also two years apart. It has a car seat bar that is really easy to take off and put on and your toddler can sit w/a seat belt on the bench in back or stand on the platform. My daughter loves that she has the choice and my back loves that I don't have to lift her into a stroller (she just steps on) It has a nice big basket underneath and cup holders so that is nice. It also has a removable tray for the front seat once you don't need to use the car seat bar anymore. It is pretty lightweight and folds up to about the same size as a regular stroller (like with a travel system) I really like mine a lot. I also have an additional umbrella stroller that I can hang on the side of the double in case my oldest needs a break on a long walk. I got it at Target and it was about $120. I would definately recommend it. Good luck.

I went to Wal Mart.com and got one for $125

It's more than you want to spend but way worth the money. I have the Phil and Ted's E3 stroller. It looks like a jogging stroller but really light. It has a detachable piece that can either go on the front for your older one when the stroller is reclined for your newborn or the piece can go on the back for your younger one when the baby is older. I have a 4 year old and 10 month old and it is the best investment as far as baby gear goes. I can fit it in my Mazda with a little trunk. The website to see pictures is: philandteds.com. I bought mine on Amazon.

I have an Inglesina, side by side stroller, which is great. I paid around $199 for it, each side can recline independently of the other, it has 2 pouches underneath to store things and it folds flat like an umbrella stroller to fit in the car. I bought it when my daughter was brand new and my son was 2 1/2 and I still use it now that they are 5 and almost 3. My friend did lots of research, owned a Peg Perego which she hated and found this one which she told me about. I would highly recommend it.
