Doll Hair

my daughter has a barbie and also a dora doll with the shiny nylon-ish hair. Once she uses the little hairbrush on it once, it's ruined and tangled and yucky.
Is there anything i can do to fix it a little??
I know it's a silly thing but i don't like spending money on a toy that looks awful once you play with it one time.
any advice.

Comb it out, put conditioner on it, rinse out conditioner, dry w/ hair dryer, then use curling iron to straighten it. Did this on some of my daughters Barbies. You can also put that straightening serum on before curling iron.

I've heard the following (but haven't tried them): Apply some conditioner and leave in; apply some conditioner and rinse out; apply some baby oil.

Best of luck; post results because there are probably other moms with this issue!

good morning K. ,
I will be your expert today !
I grew up with every doll with hair [ as I grew into a hairdresser]then I became a mommy to girls and a grammy to girls !!!! millions of barbies ...decades of doll hair frizz...to this day ; I keep barbie heads and brushes in my salon for the children ...
the secret ;
#1= get a good strudy plastic vent brush @ a dollar store
#2= give this brush to child for dolly
#3= big plastic pics work too...[ dollar store]
#4= the child will not get ' angry' @ the "dumb bendable barbie/ dora brush'..[ dispose of the pretend brush]
# 5= mommy ; brush the doll hair well before or after child is done playing [ or have child do it if old enough]
#6= all dolls reguire a hair cut too ! take an all purpose shear and snip off the long , shaggy peices... wa-la
lovely already ..[ mommy only task when child is not looking] **********
#7= take a pretty girly spray bottle [ dollar store] and fill with warm water and .5 cap of baby oil ... shake gently ...
#8= spray on dollys hair ... tah dah .. shine again ..
#9= child can spray all she wants ; harmless, will not hurt anything ... just add shine to dollys skin, nails etc.
#10= children LOVE TO PLAY HAIRDRESSER , MAKE UP, DRESS-UP, ETC ... HAPPY TO SEE THIS QUESTION !!!
ps= yes mommy ; even Dora, Barbie, Kit and Ken are all
'HIGH MAINTENANCE' !!!!!! TEACH THEM YOUNG TO MAINTAIN ....
chuckle .....

Have you tried spraying it with detangler spray? Just a thought, I haven't tried this.

My daughter has the same problem with her dolls, mainly her barbies. All I've ever done is put a rubber band in the doll's hair after it's been "detangled" or my daughter will get one of her barretts and pull it back.

I know what you mean my daughter has about 60 or so MY little Ponys and the hair on them is all wacked out so to say. Usually if you(not her) brush it with the brush it comes with or even with a thin toothed comb it usually works i have brushed ponies hair and barbies hair alot.
