Dogs and Fertilizers>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have never used in 10 years any fertilzers for my lawn. But it looks really bad now.
If I would use a weed and feed for my grass, how long should my dog and children be of the grass???
Thanks

What can I do next?

If you use something like Scotts, then I would say 2 days after you water it in. We use this to start the Spring off and do one part of our lot (we have a double lot) one week and the other the next week. One thing to try is to put it on when it is going to rain. It is supposed to be safe to play on after a day but I always make the kids play in front for an extra day so they don't bring the stuff in the house. We use the fertilizer and then 3 weeks later put new grass seed in as well. Makes it look much better---do not use Scotts grass seed as theirs is only 89% grass. You will get mushrooms, but their Haltz is great at fertilizing and preventing weeds.

Hi M.,
I don't use chemical fertilizers on my lawn because I'm afraid of my dogs ingesting it when they clean their paws, and also bringing it inside on their paws and having it all over my floor so my little one will ingest it on his hands when he crawls around. I've found a great company with natural fertilizers called Gardens Alive. You can find them online and they have GREAT products for all your lawn care needs! Give them a try!
