I know you live in OP but we board our dog in Shawnee at Broadmore Kennels. They are awesome! Your dog will actually get to play with the daycare dogs. The kennels are huge and the floors are heated and cooled with raised beds. Look at their website at broadmorekennels.com and check them out. Our dog goes there for doggie daycare 2 days a week also besides regular boarding when we are gone.

Hi L.! I know your request was a year ago, but Golden caught my eye! Under Mom-owned businesses, I have a Special Needs Doggie Daycare (you can read info). I used to raise goldens, & have a special place in my heart for them. I live in Lenexa, fenced back yard, Shawnee Mission Park & 2 doggies of my own. I only take one dog at a time (2 if same family) for 24hr/7 care. So, if you haven't found a place, you have a name if you need help. Best Regards, C. P.

We have a chocolate lab and when we go on trips we board her at Bradford Pet Hospital. They are located at the corner of 127th and Pflumn. The staff there is great and they have indoor runs for the bigger dogs rather than them being stuck in the small cages. I don't remember how much they are but I do remember that they were very reasonable compared to other vets in the area.

PETE and MACS is an amazing place! They have "rooms", not kennels, and they treat your dog like a baby! I would also check out Petsmarts Pet hotel.

My husband and I own Johnson County Pet Concierge; www.jopetconcierge.com Pet sitters offer an alternative to boarding. It is one on one personalized attention for your pets. Visits to your area are $16. We are certified pet sitters, bonded and insured. We play with your pets and also bring in the mail, newspaper, take out the trash, walks, water a few plants and give your home a lived in look by alternating the lights and blinds.

Hi L.,

Sydney's Pet Spa is our favorite place. It is at 137th and Roe and the grooming services are exceptional. Also, they have good Sunday hours so pick-up's are easy. They can be reached at ###-###-#### or their web site is: www.sydneyspetspa.com
