Does Anyone Sew?

Hi! I was just wondering if any of you sew for a hobby? I never pictured myself sewing, but my mom bought me a sewing machine and once I got started, I really enjoyed it. If not, what is your hobby?

What can I do next?

I mostly sew childrens clothing. I love making appliques even though the really detailed ones are very time consuming. I have tried making purses but I am not very good at that.

I can't imagine life without knowing how to sew. I've been sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching and other needlework since I was 4. I came from a family where my grandparents went through The Depression and my great-grandma and my grandma taught me all that stuff. I've made wedding gowns, prom gowns, baptism outfits, etc., etc. It's something I've always enjoyed doing and will continue to do until my body &/or mind no long allows me to do so.

I sew and love it. I design and make dresses for my daughter. I also crochet and do all kinds of crafts. right now I am crocheting Christmas stockings for my family. It's a nice hobby to be able to take with when my DD is in soccer or ballet.

I do like to sew. And I will tell you a really awesome book that I have found. It's called The New Handmade: Simple Sewing for Contemporary Style (That Patchwork Place) by Cassie Barden. It taught me how to make bags. And now I love making bags. I have also made things like simple curtains, tree skirt, table runners. I have tried sewing clothing, but that still needs alot of work. Hehe! I like making things for the home and without patterns. I like to come up with my own style.

Yep I sew. My mom taught me when I was about 6 or 7. It a big thing in my family as most of the women on my mom's side sew just about everything. I make quilts, mostly baby blankets for my friends but do other little projects every now and then.

I love to sew, and am getting a serger for Christmas! Yay! I sew clothes for me, my husband, and our son, as well as crafts. I love being able to make something unique and that fits me perfectly.

I just started sewing a few months ago too and LOVE it! I used to work in corporate america in upper managment and decided to quit 5 years ago to be a stay at home mom. Believe me, I NEVER pictured myself sitting in front of a sewing machine, but I am making some really cute things and I might even start selling some stuff at craft shows if I can find the time to make an inventory. Right now, I'm just working on Christmas gifts and baby gifts for friends. I really like doing it though. I've also taken up scrapbooking. Who knew I had so much hidden creativity! :-)

I sew, and wish I had more time to. I make some bead/metal jewelry, and I make handcrafted soap.

I also like to sew. I just made a quilted wall hanging for my sister for Christmas, and a doll for my daughter for her first Christmas. I also crochet and make jewelry (my passion!) Wish I had more time for all of it! Oh, and scrapbooking, too!
