Does Anyone Else Have a Child with Seborrheic Dermatitis and What Did You Do?
My baby's cradlecap has moved from her head to her face and back of her neck and her back as well. The doctor said it's seborrheic dermatitis and to put a little steroid cream for only 3 days and then to use it as needed... I feel so bad for her... she's flacky everywhere... Anyone else with the same problem? What did you do? Please help... I'm kinda paranoid!

Hi A.-
We had the same problem. I was not happy using steroids. Hers was so bad she would scratch and make herself bleed. Then I met a mom on here who told me about Melaleuca. I switched and am now using Renew lotion on her. I LOVE it! Their products are non-toxic and they save me money. If you are interested write me at ____@____.com and I will get you more information. Good Luck!

Hi A.
it is a very good idea to get your baby checked by a chiropractor also to make sure the spine and the nervous system are working properly. Due to fact that the nervous system is what tells the skin to act up and that could be from the spine being out of alignment from sleeping in different positions and from picking up the baby or playing with the baby, the bones go out of alignment... There is lots to that that I can not explain in this email... If interested, email me and we can discuss this further. I have helped many people with similar conditions and it has been helpful..

Hi A.! My daughter had the EXACT same thing (as diagnosed by my doctor). He recommended that I use Selson Blue Dandruff shampoo. He said to use it on her head and kind of brush her head with a soft brush (we used a baby brush) and build up the suds. Then he said to take the suds off her head and rub it on her face.
It worked right away! Within three days it was gone. I was so relieved when it went away!
Good luck!

She might have allergies. Check out www.naet.com for a way to naturally and non-invasively ELIMINATE allergies. Eczema is caused by allergies.

hey A.!! me, my mom, my grandmother and both of my sons 9 & 4 have gone through the exact same thing. i hated the steriod and finally took my mom and grandmother's advice. eucerin cream in the tub. not in a tub of bathwater but the one that comes in a plastic tub container:) every morning and every night and after bath. none ever in the groin area...but it seriously works. we even use the generic version from walgreen's!! hope it helps. oh...and don't try the lotion instead...it just doesn't have the staying power of the thick cream. let me know!!! I have had seb derm almost all my life. Stress makes it worse.
You might explore dietary issues...lots of info on the net. Some of the steroid stuff you may want to avoid. I read the back of my fav foam (for scalp) and it said it could deplete adrenal glands! Good luck!

my son at age 13 has cradle cap...he's been using a tea tree shampoo and scraping his scalp with a comb every day, it seems to be helping.
personally i have really dry skin and have had eczema my whole life. none of the creams or lotions seemed to help. i just discovered (maybe 6 years ago) sesame oil or olive oil. it has been the best lesson of my life. i also drink way more water then what i should be drinking and that has simmered my problems a lot.

My youngest son had bad cradlecap when he was a baby. I used olive oil and massaged it on any flaky spot. Place a warm cloth on the affected spots until cool and then gently wipe the oil off. I did repeated the warm cloth another 2 times. Gently massage while you are wiping. Do NOT scrub. I made a point of giving him a bath every other day. When I washed his hair, I used a baby comb to gently massage his scalp while soapy the first year. Becareful around the eyes with the oil and wash. I hope that helps.
