Doctor Suggestions

My husband and I recently moved to San Diego and I am having a hard time finding a Dr. that I like AND a Dr. that does both Family Practice and OBGYN (conception, pregnancy and birthing). I have met with 2 Family Practice physicians from the Scripps clinic and both gave me conflicting suggestions as to how to get pregnant. And I just tried to make an appointment with an OBGYN to meet and ask her questions and get a read on her and I can't see her until JULY!

Help! I need a suggestion for either a Family Physician who knows what they are talking about and/or does pregnancy OR an OBGYN.

Dr Karen Kohatsu in poway. She is wonderful, truly takes time with each patient and answers all your questions. I highly recommend her, her nurse practitioner and partner Dr Le are nice as well.

Pacific Coast Women's Health on El Camino Real in Encinitas is phenomenal. I esp. highly recommend Dr's Gerber & Shipp (they delivered my girls), but everyone there is amazing--even the office staff! If you live close, I highly recommend them.

West Coast OB/GYN is great! Dr.Saffer, Dr.Henao and Dr.Goodwin-all are great!

I love love love my doctor, Craig Saffer, at West Coast OB/GYN. He is located at Sharp/Mary Birch. Here is the website: http://www.wcobgyn.com. I have had both my kids there with Dr. Saffer and Dr. Goodwin. Best of luck, they are awesome. I will say they are a little crowded, but excellent care.

Hi R.,
I am 26 now and never had OBGYN. I had my first son last April 2007 and I am now 6 months pregnant with a girl again. I had homebirth and will have another one again. Did you even consider a midwife? I think if you are healthy and have no problems with reproduction you WILL get pregnant with or without help from any OB. Good luck.

IGO Medical Clinic on Genesee - The doctors and nurses there are great.

Hi R.

I have a great Dr. OBGYN at Scripps La Jolla in the Ximed Bldg, 6th floor. Her Name is Elizabeth Silverman she is part of the North County OBYGN I think they can answer all your questions and more. I have had 3 pregnancy's and that office was great.

Good Luck
R. from San Marcos
