Hello. I am 8 weeks and 2 days ( According to my last untrasound. ) I was and still am having severe cramping and sharp pains in my ovaries and lower back. The doctor was concerned and wanted to see me for an ultrasound to make sure everything was fine. She saw 3 blood spots and told me sometimes women with healthy pregnancies have them, but due the amount of pain I'm in she wants to follow up in a week for another ultrasound. Has anyone experienced this before? My hormone levels are rising as they should and I have all signs of pregnancy. I have a 4 year old daughter and didn't experience any of this while pregnant with her. The amount of pain has me bed ridden at times, laying on the heating pad. Am I going to miscarry or could this just be the baby growing? Help!

What can I do next?

I'm sorry you are in pain.

I can't tell you the answer here. I've been fortunate enough to never have lost a pregnancy. You really need to talk to your OB/GYN about this and find out what their evaluation.

I did a search and found another mom who had this problem in 2010.

I suggest that no one can answer this question. If they could the doctor would answer this for you. Perhaps some mom's here have had this experience but what happened for them does not tell you what will happen for you. Perhaps their stories wI'll reassure you for the present but they aren't an indication of what will happen for you.

I understand being very anxious. I've been there with other conditions. What helped me when I was diagnosed with cancer was the doctor telling me that the chances I would be fine was the mostly likely scenerio based on his experience and the percentages. Perhaps your doctor could tell you what percentage of pregnancies are successfully carred to full term. My doctor only told me this after a biopsy. I suggest he won't be able to give you hope until after he continues to monitor you. The ultrasounds are like my biopsy.

I am sorry you have to play this waiting game. I suggest you try not to think about it and distract yourself with another activity. Perhaps a hobby or doing things with your other child or spending time with friends without talking, about it. It is what it is and you can't change it no matter even tho you wish you could.

No one can answer if you are going to miscarry, not even the doctor.

I had a hematoma on my uterus during my pregnancy, it was pushing on the placenta and I had bleeding through out my pregnancy. I spend so many nights in the hospital and had so many ultrasounds. It is very frustrating and can create a lot of stress. Not sure if the blood spots are similar, I did not have any pain. I did have a very healthy baby that was three weeks early (induced).

There are some things in life that we must take day by day.

I will tell you, I had some spots of blood, I can't remember what she called it, but it was a hemorrhage between the uterus and sack the baby was in. I had some bleeding on Halloween and freaked out. The only advice they could get me was to try to stay calm. My son was born in May with no problem, just a couple of weeks early, which she said was normal with that problem and gestational diabetes, which I also had.

That being said, I can't say for sure that your pregnancy will be fine, just that mine was. I hope that everything will go well with you.
