Do You Use Target or Luvs Brand Diapers?

Hi,

I recently noticed the huge price difference (12-15 dollars) between Pampers and Target brand or Pampers and Luvs. So I'm wondering are the cheaper brands just as good?

Do they hold a lot of pee at night? Do they hold poops inside? I've always used Pampers and have never had a problem with the quality, but the price is getting to me.

Are the cheaper brands just as good?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I totally used LUVS with all three of my kids (twin boys and one daughter). They were cheaper, but worked just as well as Pampers or Huggies. My kids were allergic to the Target brand, because I did try those, too. They developed a rash when I used them. Luvs even started putting out coupons which made them even cheaper!

If your main concern is about cost, then choose modern cloth diapers. They are more dependable than disposable diapers and can save a family thousands of dollars. One of the easiest diapers is the BumGenius 3.0 http://www.bumgenius.com/one-size.php

Besides saving money and being easy to use, they are better for baby and the planet.

If you're looking to save some money on luvs and a bunch of other baby stuff (including bottles, formula, skin care, etc), you really should check out Diapers.com. enter the code MPED0013 in the "Promotions & Referrals" box in the diapers.com shopping cart and receive $10 off your first order of diapers. They have really good deal on Luvs!!!

You might try the Jewel or Osco brand in the yellow package or ToysRus/Babies R Us brand. I also like the Kirkland brand from Costco but i am not sure they save you any money.

I love Luvs, that is all I used when my son was little. The price of the big packet are great. They work just as well as the expensive brands, they do not leak.

When my 6 yr old was born, I used Pampers. Then I switched to Luvs, and finally to the Target brand - which I actually ended up liking even more than Luvs. With my twins, I use Target. They are even better now than they were 4-5 years ago when my daughter used them. My twins are heavy wetters at night, though, so we use Huggies Overnights. That's just the only overnight brand I could ever find. I think the quality of the Target brand is great, and you can't beat the cost. If I set aside the difference between Pampers and Target for just a year with my twins, I could take a vacation!! Their wipes are my favorite, too.

I have three kids, my youngest being almost three. I have been using Luvs for years. I like them as much (or more) than Pampers. I go out of my way to go to Walmart to get them. And, they are a much better deal!

My daughter started using Pampers when my grandson was born.
When he got a rash across his entire bottom i told her it was an allergic reaction to the pampers, she tried huggies and luvs, nothing took it away.
She even went to the DR. to get a cream that still didn't work. Finally she listened to me and tried the target brand and the rash was gone in days.
She has used them since he was about 2 mos old and he's 1 yr
She hasn't had a problem with them. The target brand is really good and as you say much cheaper. Alot of people use them as they have no perfumes in them. I suggest you try a box and then make your decision. I believe you'll be happy with them. They hold up just as good as the rest.

I used Target brand for a few months. When Luvs came out with the bear hug stretch I switched to them for the last 6+ months. The last time I bought I tried the Target brand again but I don't like them quite as much because the tabs don't stretch. I would say they don't hold leaks as well. The Luvs are great, I just bought 1 size bigger for night time since my son got bad diaper rash I think from the Huggies Overnights. Never had a problem with them holding BM's ever, although he pees through occasionally at night but no more than with the huggies.

I have used them both also due to price, I prefer the Luvs, they sometimes leak, but only if Justin has had a lot to drink before bed. I used to buy the Luvs for home and target for daycare. Both brands work great. Good luck. Also if you sign up on Luvs site you get coupons off at Target.

I use Target and have since Connor was 4 months old (he is almost 10 months now) and they are absolutely fine. I have had no problems. At one point they started to leak, but I went up a size and they were fine.

I use Parents Choice diapers by Walmart. They're great! I haven't had any issues with them yet. A friend of mine was using the Target brand and then actually found the Walmart brand to be much better.

I use Luvs for both my 2 1/2 yearold boy and my 8 month old boy. I think they work great. My youngest is in size 2 and I can't seem to find them when I go to Walmart. But I do know you can get smaller sizes at Target. I have been using Luvs for years. Hope this helps.

Given a choice with money not being an issue, I will always choose the generic (Member's Mark) brand they sell at Sam's Club.

I've got triplets, so I change A LOT of diapers every day (about 12-15) and those diapers have never leaked on me, held in all poop (even bouts of diarrhea) and they come in at close to half the cost of the name brands. You'll easily pay for the yearly membership cost at Sam's Club just in the savings from the diapers alone, not to mention the wipes.

And if you're using formula, that's another great savings too.

If there is a Sam's club you can go to, I highly recommend it!

Personally I think Luvs are terrible. They leak and make the clothes damp also. I have never tried the target brand but may give them a shot. I am a pampers gal myself.
