I was wondering if anyone orders checks from the insert that comes with the sunday coupons or with a misc. company that you have found online thats not related to your bank. I would like to know was is safe and worth it or should I stick with the checks from the bank. And if you do use them who do you recommend? Thanks for the input.

I have done both. But the bank we have now doesn't charge for plain checks.
Since I do almost all my bill paying online, I no longer care what the few checks I write look like.

If you have a Costco membership--order online from them! They are incredibly cheap! I think the last time I ordered they were $20 for 4 boxes of duplicate designer checks!! They have CRAZY good prices and they are quick and accurate.

I have ordered from several of the different outfits that advertise in the Sunday paper. The catch is that if you want to reorder than you no longer get that 'introductory' pricing and are charged a lot more. That's why I have switched between the different companies.

I am glad to hear that you can order checks through Sam's because once I run the circuit I will need a new check supplier.

Sometimes-they are free if you reorder from the bank-depending on the type of account for which you are ordering. For instance, my HSA checks are free from the bank and not when ordered online-learned that the hard way!

I've ordered checks from Current, Artistic Checks and ChecksintheMail. Never had any problems with them and they were cheaper and more fun to look at than the bank's choices. Last time I ordered my checks from Costco, also worked fine.

Last time I ordered from Sam's and have ordered from carouselchecks.com. no problems from either except carousel takes longer if you don't pay more for fast shipping. Sams was really cheap too!

I've always ordered my checks from either Current or other companies like that, rather than through the bank. The bank charges ridiculous fees. I've never had a problem and I've been doing it through the phone or online for years.

I have actually ordered mine from Walmart's website. They were cheap and had some really cute designs. I was very satisfied with them. I have also known several people that order them from different websites. One of the websites is checksunlimited.com. Hope this helps!

When I used to write more checks we ordered from the ads in the paper. Loved them and they are fun. And it is safe too. We don't anymore since we only write one or two checks a month and they go straight to the bank anyway. So we get the free ones from the bank now. But if you write checks and want fun ones then go for it!! Good luck and God Bless.

I have used checks in the mail, check gallery, Artistic checks, and a few others that I can't remember the names of. I haven't used bank checks for at least 20 years and haven't had any problems with any of the companies I have used. They are a lot cheaper and work just as well. I get the duplicate checks. When they arrive, check and make sure the account number and routing number are correct so they will go through your bank properly. If you have any misprints just contact their customer service and they will print new ones for you. I have only had this happen one time in all the years I have used these companies and I had the new reprinted checks to me within a week when there was a misprint and it was a wrong address because we had moved and when we reordered checks, somehow they missed my change of address.

I've ordered from Current. The only problem was that I ordered 4 boxes to get them much cheaper and then I moved just a few months later so the address was wrong. Last time I ordered online from Sam's. I have never had a problem as far as being safe and anything is cheaper than ordering the ones from the bank.

I take care of several businesses and for the last 15 years have used the inserts in the paper to buy all my checks. They are perfectly fine. Once you use one you have to switch to another to get the great deals. I have used at least 4 of the companies with never any problems at all. I would suggest you buy the larges order you can (usually 4 boxes) because it is the best deal and then make a list of which of the companies you have used. I say definitely go for it and save some money.

Absolutely YES. I have ordered from many different companies and have never had any problems. I always look to see who has the best deals. Of course, I have now found out COSTCO has this service too, and you can't beat their prices. I have ordered both personal & business checks from them without a problem.
