Do You Know Interesting Names for the Third (III)?
My friends are having a son and are planning to name him after Dad who is already a junior. They are having trouble coming up with a good nickname for the baby. The first name is John and middle initial is C. They have already thought of Tres, Jack, and Tripp.
I know one of you moms has the answer!
So What Happened?™
Wow! Thanks to all the moms for great ideas. I shared them with my friend and so far she likes Trip and Trace. I will keep you posted on what she decides.
Thanks Again:-)

Well my husband is the second (II) and we call him Deuce. When my stepson was born they wanted to call him Tripp, but his mom didn't like that. I think it's cute. But anyway we call my husband Deuce, like I said and we call my step-son JC. Their names are John Calvin I, II, and III. We call My father-in-law Jay. I hope this helps!!

Hi, this sounds like someone I know ,My friend is also the 111, and his initials are JCG 111.It did not seem to be a problem for his family, as the 1st was john to friends then dad and grandpa, the 2nd is john to his wife and dad to his kid and the other is grandpa. My friend's name was Joseph so he was called Joey by mom, everyone else called him Joe. He is the only one left so he is still Joe. They could just call their 3rd name sake, JC, and let him decide when he is older what name for school friends to call him. Hope this helps some.

There is a family from my hometown and one of the grandmother's (I think the original John's wife) said no more Johns, so they named the third one Sean (French for John). So that is an idea to give him his own identity, but keep the family tadition

I had a friend who's mother saw a name on credits of a Warner Brothers cartoon and named him the name Treg. (sounds like Greg, but with a T) I always thought that would have been a good name for a III.

My dad and my granddaddy were both John Caleb. Granddaddy went by his initials, J.C., so that's one idea. When my dad was born, they explained the "junior" thing to one of dad's young cousins. The young cousin tried to say "a little J.C." but it came out "a yiddle JaKEY." That stuck, so dad was Jakey. Depending on what the C stands for, maybe your friends could come up with their own twist ...?

Personally, I would call him what I named him. I go by middle name and I get sick and tired of all "forms" and financial information being first name/middle initial. So, NOTHING has my name that I go by on it.

Hi. In keeping with the third theme they could name him Trace and have the sound of the number three but a more traditional spelling. They can also just use Dad's initials and come up with a name all his own. A final thought would be to choose either Dad's first or middle name and give that to the baby as a first or middle name and then a name unique to him. Don't really have any other suggestions other than those. HTH.

Chip is one that I have heard several times...you know, like chip off the old block. My son is named after his father, Ryan..so he is Ryan Jr. We call him RJ( and Ryan when we really want to get his attention..he knows both names but goes by RJ) So, that said, what about JJ (John Jr. ohh wait, he is the third..how about JT, John the third?) Just some thoughts! Have fun ~A.~
