Please help!! I just bought the Chicco Cortina travel system for my newborn and I'm still trying to figure out how to grocery shop with the infant seat. It doesn't hook into the front part of the cart and if I put it in the basket, I don't have any room for all my groceries. I tried to attach it with the safety strap, but it doesn't work. How do you shop with this? Please share your ideas. THANK YOU!!!!

What can I do next?

I saw a mom shopping with her stroller travel system, and she fit a ton of groceries in the bottom basket with lighter items up on top. I even asked her how she fit it all! This idea won't help for really large shopping trips, but would be great for small to medium trips. The carseat frames with the large baskets underneath might be another option.

I went throught the same thing with my Chicco - I feel your pain. : ) The only safe way to use this seat with a basket is to put it in the main compartment. I stick groceries in the basket all around her seat and on the bottom level of the basket.

The carrier suggestion was a good one, if you can find one you like. I have the Infantimo, and it is kind a pain to get on and off, and I always feel like my daughter is going to fall out in the process.

None of them are supposed to fit in there. You just have to kind of hold it while you shop. I just started bringing some disinfecting wipes and wiping the heck out of those red baby carriers that are on some of the baskets and using that. Or you can do the sling thing....good luck!

from my experience, none of the seats fit well. Buy a sling or carrier. Mine was a life saver for the store! Plus, then when I have to turn around to get something, or run back down a few feet on an aisle, I've got the baby with me! There are crazy people out there!!!

A.,
I had the same problem w/the infant carrier and shopping carts. Unfortunately, I never found a way around it. I just used to put it in the actual basket and not do too big a shopping trip. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It's not funny..but it is.... because I had a horrible time trying to figure out the same exact thing at Krogers! And i can picture how hard it was all over again! I had to turn the seat sideways but it would slide. Then I would tilt up the seat in the front because I saw someone else do it but it scares me because she looks like she'll project forward.BUT thats how I have been doing it or else i put her in the big section and not too much shopping at one time! I am looking forward to seeing what others think too! I do love that chicco set though!
