My best childhood friends brother and wife had 2 very handsome little boys... and then were finally blessed with a baby girl.
Lily was born with Bladder Extrophy, a condition where her bladder grew outside of her body.
This occurs in about 1 in 40,000 births, and is 90% more common in boys than girls, so hers is a very uncommon case.
They just got word this morning that, because her bladder is so covered in polyps, it's not a viable bladder, and they have to remove it. They'll create a pseudo-bladder out of her colon... this is so very uncommon and still very much trial and error... I'm so upset for them, but smiling at this gorgeous baby girl. She doesn't know any better! This has been her life since birth, you know?
SO, if you have it in you, please say a little prayer for the lovely Little Miss Lily tonight.

Always time for an extra prayer. Some folks think that prayers from strangers are very special. Please let your friend know that many mamas from all walks of life are praying for her little Ms. Lily and the entire family.

I lift little Lily up to you. You love her even more than her parents. Please heal her and let her not be in pain. Please give her doctors wisdom and knowledge to help her. Please give her family and friends your peace that is beyond understanding.
For me, please praise God for showing me so much mercy for yet another healing ( and I hope permanent one from cancer.)
Please also pray for my friend, Debbie, who was also diagnosed with lung cancer and does not have the good prognosis I do. We have the same great oncologist and prayers and blessings for him would be also appreciated.
Little Miss Lily will certainly be in my prayers tonight.......and I will be praying a lot tonight since my sister has to be at the hospital for observation. They think she is pregnant with her first but there seems to be a mass in one of her tubes - the drs are not sure if it is just a mass and the pregnancy is proceeding as normal (too soon to be seen on ultrasound) or if it is an ectopic pregnancy that will need to be terminated........they will find out via blood work tomorrow.....I will pray for Miss Lily as I pray for my unborn little neice or nephew and his/her good health.....Sometimes is is best to leave things in HIS hands.

Prayers?? Everyone and everything is on my list. There's not enough hours in the day to pray for everything on my heart.
Praying for Lily and her family. As I read this I am sitting by my "baby" sister's hospital bedside. Four weeks ago, she had a massive stroke. According to the doctor's in was in the worst possible place. The doctor's never thought she would be with this long, but God is in control and we are praying for a His miracle.

My husband and I just started going to a start up church. There is only a handful of us that go. At the christmas party at the pastors house, I met a young (early 20's) woman who was pregnant, due first part of Jan. I chatted with her for a few minutes, it was their first baby, they were very happy of course. Fast forward, I don't see her at church except one more time. She has the baby, named her Paisley, so cute. Her baby shower was 2 weekends ago that her church "family" were giving her. I sent a card with another woman but could not attend. During the shower, she was complaining her back hurt. She went to emergency...tumor. Had it tested...cancer. Hodgekins (sp?). Very very sad. They asked it be kept "low key", nothing said on FB, no announcements at church, etc. I'm sure they are reeling. Last I heard they are moving in with her parents so they can help. Not sure what is ahead for them but if anyone reads this, please pray for this beautiful young family. Thanks.

Where is she being treated? I've worked a lot with Dr Gearhart at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore when I was nurse. He does awesome work with bladder exstrophy. Hopkins has a support group/ yearly meeting for families and children with exstrophy in the spring including classes. It's a nice way to meet others who are dealing with the same thing and give the kids a feeling of normalcy.
I'll be praying for this little girl but be encouraged that these kids typically do really well and most of the time, a few years from now, no one will even know she had this condition unless they change her diaper.
Praying for her right now. I am praying for a 24 year old young man from my church named Nick. He has a tumor on the brain stem...stage 3 cancer. Please remember him.
