I used a recipe from my mom's cook book, but they came out pretty bland. It called for 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract, baking soda, baking powder and 1 1/4 cups of flour. They don't taste bad, they're just a tad bland. Maybe add some extra extract? Do you have a great recipe that you would like to share? My Daddy loves peanut butter cookies and I just lost a bet with him, lol.

You may not be looking for something like this but...........I buy the Betty Crocker Peanut Butter cookie mix in the red bag and you just add egg and oil and they are AWESOME! Every time I bring them somewhere I get asked for the recipe. I always add mini chocolate chips to mine. It is a great option for when you are short on time!

Just add some peanut butter, chocolate or white chips or put a Hershey's Kiss in the middle and turn them into peanut blossoms. I just use 2 cups peanut butter, 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons baking powder, a splash of vanilla and a dash of salt.

I use the recipe from the package of Crisco sticks - can't remember if it's with the plain or butter flavored package. But I bet you could find the recipe on Crisco's website. I do cut the salt called for in half though, because I find that if I use the full amount they are a little salty to me. I've been using this recipe for years and everyone always loves them.

This the best recipe that I've come across. So easy too. You can use chunky peanut butter, add peanut butter chips, choc chips whatever you want.

3 Ingredient Peanut butter cookies.

Ingredients
• 1 cup peanut butter
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 egg
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Combine the peanut butter, white sugar and egg. Mix until smooth.
3. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 6 to 8 minutes. Do not overbake! These cookies are best when they are still soft and just barely brown on the bottoms.

Side note: I always roll the spoonfuls of dough in granulated sugar before placing them on the baking sheet then press them down with a fork in a criss cross and bake as usual. This recipe doesn't make very many, but oh are they good.

I've had the same problem....my mom's cookies always tasted like peanut butter, but the recipes now don't. My aunt gave me the recipe like yours, only add 1/4 tsp of salt and double the peanut butter - I always put at least a whole cup.....and she said you could put 1-1/2 cups if you wan to.

They're GREAT!

The recipe is missing one very important ingredient. Without it any baked good tastes bland or flat. You need to add 1/2tsp of salt. Anything baked from bread to cookies to cakes needs a little salt, otherwise they just don't quite taste right.
