Do Narrow Toddler Shoes Exsist?

Hi Ladies,

I am in need of serious help....we are down to one pair of shoes that is the right size, but won't stay on b/c they are so wide. I can't find shoes anywhere that fit my 17 month old daughter. She is in at least a size 5-5.5 shoe but has EXTREMELY narrow feet and a high instep. (To give you an idea - I can put my thumb in between the sides of the shoe and her foot and still have plenty of room.) I loved PediPeds when she was younger as they were the closest thing to a shoe that fit. Unfortunately the PediPed Flex shoes are mostly Mary Janes which she can't wear due to high instep and they look huge on narrow feet. Most shoes won't tighten enough to stay on her foot so every 5 feet we have to stop and put the shoe back on. I went to Sandy's Shoes and they basically said the PediPeds were one of the narrowest brands of shoes out there. The only thing that I found that might work is a brand called Preschoolians. Has anyone tried these or found a different brand of shoe that comes in a narrow?

Thanks for all the help!

What can I do next?

Thanks everyone. I ended up with Tsukihoshi shoes. The fit well, and they held up great. Here's their website: http://www.tsukihoshi.com/

Stride Rite would be my first choice, but they are costly. I've found that Nike is a typically narrower shoe and spending 20-25 dollars is much cheaper than the starting price of 40 dollars for a pair of stride rights. The only problem I've found with the Nike's is that the arch isn't very high.

HI T.,
What a problem. My daughter had the same issues- and still does today- Not sure if they still make them but you might try StrideRite and Buster Brown. They are expensive but those are the ones I had to keep my daughter in.
Good luck and Blessings

Poor thing! I had seriously narrow feet as a child. I wore stride-rite shoes. Nike makes a narrower shoe for tennis shoes. It gets better as they get older.

Have you tried Stride Rite? My son wears those and they have worked out very well! If you can, find a store that specializes in them. In Beaumont we have McDoogle's and they are great! They fit your child and also send reminders when it might be time to come in and get fitted again. Try their website too. www.striderite.com

My oldest daughter had narrow feet, especially the heel and I found that Stride Right shoes were the best. They had narrower shoes. They are a little more expensive but it is worth it to have shoes that fit. Hope this helps.

Have her measured at Stride Rite, but you can buy Stride Rite shoes on ebay cheap! Don't know where you live, but they have an outlet at Round Rock Outlets and you can get toddler shoes for about $20.

Strite Rite is the best choice. They also will measure your daughter's feet to recommend you the best fit. If you are in San Antonio there is a store in North Star Mall.
