Hi Moms,

I am sick of paying for pest control services. I'm not even convinced that a pest control company's product is any better than the kind I can buy at a store. I am wondering if any of you spray pest control on your own instead of paying a company to do it? Also, does it work? Thanks!

Ortho Home defense...it works. I have always used it, it has worked when I lived in apartment complexes, when I lived in a duplex and even now that I am out in the country. My mom uses it in her 3 story home and my sister uses it out in Oregon. My mom could afford to pay someone easily to come in and spray, but she thinks she gets better results with the Ortho Home defense.
If you really want to see results you need to spray around the perimeter of the outside of your home as well as the inside.

I used Ortho Home Defense (the "Create a barrier" kind) when I stil had a HUGE and GROWING ant problem. I had pest control spray 4 times, and nothing worked. I used Ortho ONCE, and now the basically full bottle sits under my sink yet to be used again. Thank goodness for it!

What pests are being targeted? In my house ants are the culprit and I don't use chemicals, because of the kids. I find their entry and fill up the hole/gap with cinnamon powder (it really works!)
Long story short regarding my parents' home and a tenant who didn't pay rent, didn't clean house, home became infested with roaches. Again, we didn't want to use chemicals because of the family dog; we used diotramacious earth (sorry about the spelling, it's used to clean pool filters) By chance we came upon it's use for pest control and safe around humans/pets and it worked and wiped out the multiple colonies in about 5-6 weeks. It's been 7 years since we treated and the roaches never came back. Good luck and effective treatment doesn't have to be chemicals or cost a lot of money.

You can buy professional grade pest control online. Professionals, at least around here, use stronger pest killer. Do they give you a bill overlook with how much of whatever they spray? Then you could find them online. I have been wondering if the raid bug barrier continuous spray works but have never personally used it.
