Do Age Spot ("Sun Spot") Skin Products Work?

I was a good mom, spending a lot of time outdoors with my kids these past two summers, and now my face has paid the price. I have a few permanent brown splotches as a result. I keep seeing Garnier ads for an age spot serum and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried such products.

Does it work?
Is it permanent or do you have to keep using it?
Which brands do/do not work?

And, yes, I use face lotion with sunblock every day and extra sunblock for long periods outdoors.

What can I do next?

OTC - I have had no success. I'd go to the dermatologist and get the good stuff.
The one product I have not tried is the Clinique, but I have tried murad, garnier, Aveda, another "vitamin c" product from the spa all a big, fat fail.

Right now I don't have the $$ to hit my derm, but it is on the wish book for January to find out what I can do clinically to improve the situation.

Good luck to you, though!

I know the dermo has given me and my sister bleaching cream in the past. I've also had a LOT of success with microdermabrasion.

Mary Kay has a great product that I love. I took away my pregnancy mask. It helps with age spots, sun damage, freckles, etc..

TimeWise® Even Complexion Essence is clinically shown to restore skin's natural, even tone by helping reduce visible dark spots and skin discoloration.

Good luck,

CLinique has a good product and they have a foundation with it as well.

I have used the Clinique product but I don't have large blothcy spots, just a spot or two here and here. It does work but it does not work overnight.

It will take time for the cremes to work, 6-8 weeks to see a difference. If you go into it knowing that you will be ok.

The dermotologist also has products that are stronger but also take time and regular use.

Good luck
