Disneybound Moms - How's Your Planning Going?

I noticed a few moms are also planning Disney trips for this year.

I've done preliminary pricing on my ultimate wishlist for Disneyworld and it came up to $5750. Yikes! I'm currently trying to wittle it down. I'm still doing the pricing on my own, while I wade through all the websites and books. But soon, once I get familiar w/everything, I'll be more "educated" enough to contact a travel agent and know what I'm getting the best price for.

Anyway, good luck to you!

What can I do next?

I agree, don't call an agent!! Disney is easy once you get the lay of the land. Have you looked at mousesavers.com?? That will provide you with a bounty of info and you'll be ready. Have fun!!

Our last guest for the holiday season just left thursday. I booked my trip thru Disney around Thanksgiving but haven't picked out all our restaurants or mapped everything all out yet. We did purchase our plane tickets. I need a week off to catch up on getting my house back in order and maybe a little rest in there too. Then I will get moving on our 9 day trip to Disney in May.

Good luck with your planning!

If you go to the Disney stores in the mall, you can purchase tickets there at a discount. We did that a couple of years ago. I was surprised at the discount.

Have fun!!!

Hello P.S,
Good luck planning your trip to Disney=) I'm also planning for our trip on April 15, 2012. However, no matter how many websites I visit, or how many unofficial guides to Disney I read I'm still baffled about exactly hat I should/shouldn't pack. How many outfits should I pack per person, will I be able to bring food on the plane? So many questions I have, Hopefully by reading your post I will find answers to my questions. I hope you enjoy this special time with your family.
P.S
IF ANYONE CAN PLEASE SEND ME MORE INFORMATION TO HELP PLAN MY TRIP I WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

Just an FYI...unless you're military or bound & determined to do an all-in-one package deal, the best deal I found on park tickets (like, by a LOT) was through Kissimmee Guest Services. Here's their website: http://www.kgstickets.com/

Just something else to look into. Have a blast on your trip! ;)

Do not call a travel agent for Disney. Do not use a travel agent for Disney. Disney lets you put a minium deposit of 400.00 then allows you to pay whatever amount you want each month until time for your trip. A travel agent will want all money upfront. I have taken my son 8 times and he is 11 years old. Also watch for all Disney Special Offers. If they give a discount after you have booked your trip they will give you money back. We spent xmas at Disney World and we are going back in June. Don't go wirhout the Dining Plan and the Deluxe Resorts are the best. We have stayed in all most all of them. The Wilderness Lodge was my favorite.Whatever you do don't use travel agent and call Disney to book so you can make sure you get the best price. Disney always gives the best
price but go to special offers at Disney World.com. Allears.net is also a great Disney website.

We're taking the children this year also. They have no idea. I just found mousesavers.com, which seems to have some really good information. We have family in the area, so accomodations won't be a factor for us, but the ticket prices are high. My husband is retired military, and we found that military can get 4 day hopper tickets for $138, which is an incredible price (normally nearly $300 for these each). Go to thefrugalgirls.com and search disney and you will find a few posts about saving when going there. Read the comments also because many people have put sites and tips for saving money when going. Have fun!
