Disney Tickets or Things to Do in Orlando

We are going to Orlando on 6/1-6/10 and was wondering if anyone has any idea how to find discount Disney tickets. There are 6 of us and it is expensive! Also are there any MUST sees other than Disney, Universal or Sea World? We have 4 teenage boys so nothing for little kidos. Thanks!

We are staying in a timeshare in Kissimmee, FL at Orange Lake so just looking for things to do that we do not want to miss other than the theme parks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks so much for all the great tips!

If you are flying, you will miss the discount tickets for rooms etc. At all welcome centers, which are just past the borders as you drive into a state, there are dicount books. they are great to get discount rooms. I would not have been able to stay in Florida for more than a week if I did not have them. They have books about things to see and do.

My sister bought all of her Disney World tickets on Ebay. She got a great price and it was the real deal. She and her daughter were able to do things that she would not have been able to afford to do otherwise. She also bought tickets to go swimming with dolphins and they loved that! Good luck on your search!

I found the best deals to disney world by buying tickets online. The most important thing to remember is to buy the hopper pass. And, I bought the hopper and it only covered the theme parks--not the water parks which my kids-who were also older kids-enjoyed the most. A lot of disney world is geared for small children. We ended up spending another $50 per person while there so we could get into the water parks and it was sooo worth it. That was the best part of disney world! I can't remember exactly but I know there's different packages for the different parks but with older kids you definately want to do the water parks and there's somewhere in there that you get to snorkel with sharks. My kids loved that. I can't remember which part it was in but I'm sure my kids could tell you. :)
Sea World was our favorite part of Orlando though! We spent two days there. We bought our tickets online and then when we went to Sea World they told you when you walked in that if you wanted another ticket to go to the booth and they gave you a 2nd day for free. Might have been a special promo. at the time?
That's all we had time for and we were there for five days. And, we still didn't get to see all of disney world. Sea World was fit in at the end of the day on two separate days--we were at Disney everyday.
Have fun!

My Cousin took her parents and 15 year old son on a fishing excursion. But mainly DW wanted to be on the beach looking at the pretty girls in the very skimpy bikinis. I'd look for things that cater to your boys intrests. Ball parks, arcades, music, skate parks. DW was almost always at Paradise Funplex and had to be drug away every day to eat, or do things with the "old folks"

I'm not sure what your boys are into, but my husband and I enjoyed The Dixie Stampede show. They just opened one in Orlando. It is a dinner show of the north vs. south and was a blast for all ages. We went to Arabian Nights and it was pretty blah compared to Disney. Otherwise, we stuck to our Park-hopper pass.

I don't knwo about discount tickets, but the park hopper passes are the way to go. You can also use them to get the flash passes (or something like that) once you are in the parks. You scan your park hopper pass at this machine and it gives you a ticket and tells you a tims frame to come back so you don't have to wait in line for 3 hours for a ride. The longest we waited for a ride with one of those was maybe 45 min. Does any of that make sense? LOL. I also highly reccomend Animal Kingdom. It was the best park out of the 4 that I visited.

Cape Canaveral is great. The kids will love it. Get there early and take the tour.

We went to Orlando in March and we found that my children loved Universal both of them actually and I believe the tickets aren't as much as Disney.. The lines at Disney were very long and we really didn't get a chance to see much. Just for future reference I heard that if you stay at one of the Universals hotels that you can go hotel hopping to different pools and you also get an express pass for the lines at Universal. My kids are younger but they didn't care much for Disney. The hotels usually have a package deal as well. Hope this helps.

Most of the discount ticket deals are for attending timeshares. Be careful buying them on Ebay, I got ours on there for our trip a few weeks ago but there were tons of scam listings to fish through before finding authentic ones.

I do recommend getting tickets with the water park option--the Disney water parks are a blast! If you do Animal Kingdom I would recommend going in the morning and being first in line to get on the safari ride. The line builds up FAST because the most of the animals are still out and visible while it's semi-cool in the morning. But other than the safari we didn't have too much fun there, in fact we left before noon and park-hopped back to Magic Kingdom. Your teenagers might like Disney MGM, it's got cool stuff like action shows and movie sets/props (Disney's version of Universal Studios). The city walk at Universal is kinda fun to go for dinner one night, lots of nice restaurants and shopping. I thought it was better than Downtown Disney.

I haven't done GatorLand, but my dad and his wife did and enjoyed it a lot, you go on a boat in the water and see real live gators I guess!

Have fun! Oh, just a tip: when we were there a few weeks ago we went back to some of the parks in the late afternoon/evening after our kids had taken naps. Getting there at that time was perfect for riding rides with no waits because TONS of people were leaving the parks for dinner!
