I have a vacation coming up in March and I'm really wanting to do the Disney Cruise. I am wondering if anyone has gone on one, and also the grandparents might go because my husband cannot - so was wondering what I can tell them so my Mother is assured she would get some adult time while on it?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I went on a Disney cruise within the first few months it started and we had a great time. I didn't have kids at the time, it was just my husband and I. We have tons of adult time where there were no kids around. Actually, it seemed like during the day we didn't see many kids at all. They were all doing the kids activities which are separated from the adults. There is an adult only area and there are areas for families. I think you will all have a really good time. I was amazed at how nice it was for me without kids, and I can't wait to take my kids on it when they are older. The nightly entertainment is fantastic, they put on little shows which are nicely done for all ages. It is classic disney- wonderful!

It has been some years but I went with my parents as a teenager with some of their friends that had younger kids and the only time any of us saw our parents were at mealtimes, shore excursions, and bedtimes. I had a blast. I remember my parents went to shows on the ship and hung out in the hot tub and the pool and did lots of other stuff. There was tons of stuff for kids of all ages to do. The Disney Cruise was probably one of my favorite cruises that I've gone on besides the Alaskan cruise. (I've been on 7 cruises since I was 11 years old).

Hi K.. We are going on a Disney cruise in June. From what I've been told.....It's a struggle to get your kids to hang out with you. Apparently they have a great kids club and they never want to leave it. I'm sure it will be fun. Other parents have told me that there are a ton of things for adults to do alone. I think it will be a good time for my kids and us. We are also going with the grandparents. Have fun, and good luck. Let me know how it is if you end up doing it.

My husband and I took a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon. I was so excited and he was a little reserved about the idea. He feared having little kids running all over us. We got on there and were amazed at how it was. The kids have almost an entire deck to do kid things and it is not noisy at all. The only time we saw kids was at mealtimes and the kid at our table wasn't there long because he was running back to play with his new friends. During excursions we didn't see kids because we did what we wanted to. At Disney's Castaway Cay there is a separate beach just for adults. It's wonderful and you don't even know kids exist there. The pool deck was always busy with kids but it's a pool the shape of Mickey's head and has a slide. I wanted to play with them.:) They have great entertainment on the ship too. THe clubs, stage shows and other things are just a blast. We can't wait to go again. Hope this helps.
