Dip Container Ideas

I want to send carrots & dip in a school lunch. I am looking for ideas for a very small dip container for a 5 yo (if it works for a 3 yo, even better). Any out of the box ideas? (screw on or snap). I don't want prepackaged dip.

What can I do next?

are the very small Gladware/Ziplock containers still too big (I think they're about 4 oz)?
I've found smaller plastic containers at a local Japanese dollar store

Pottery Barn Kids sells a very small dip container indivdually. So does Laptop Lunch (you can find them online.) but they may only sell them along with a set of other sizes.

I found a blue Sassy container at Target that has 2 compartments and in one of the compartments are 2 more individual containers with snap on lids. The container is very versatile and also has a spoon that attaches to the inside of the lid. You can check it out online to see if it would work for you.

How bout the sandwich sized ziplock bags? Practice at home with one first to make sure they can use it.

I found some really small containers with lids at Dollar Tree. Before that, I would buy sample cups from Sam's Club, and use the press and seal wrap to cover it, and then put it in the container with the salad in case it leaked.

Glad has re-usable containers. I bought a set that was the size of baby jar food (for making my own baby food :)). They are cheap enough that if they get lost or accidentally thrown away it's not a big deal.

I got a container at The Container Store that is specificaly for snacks with dips, you open the lid, see your carrots and in the center is another lid that opens to the dip. Not a good description, here is a link

Try Pottery Barn Kids. They have some very small containers that would work well.

How far are you from a Smart and Final? They sell disposable containers and lids in different ounce sizes like a take out restaurant would use.

I use Lock & Lock containers in my kids lunches for school. Keeps the lid on (so no spills to worry about) and even my 3.5 yr old can open/close it herself. They're great!

Stores that sell bento supplies (Japanese lunchbox) have a million different sauce cups to choose from. Try Daiso in Cupertino, or Mitsuwa in San Jose. Or look online at bento boxes and accessories.

Tupperware has tiny round containers perfect for dip.
Or if you know anyone with a baby, those plastic containers the baby Gerber food come in are perfect for a little dip.
