Hello ladies! I am hoping yu can help me once again. I have a friend in Scotland that will be hosting a dinner party on the 7th. It is a competition between a group of friends to see who can provide the best food/entertainment/overall experience. Anyway, she needs ideas for games to play after dinner. There will be about 10 adults, no children, and they all drink. Everything I came up with has been done by the other competitors. Thank you all!

What can I do next?

A fun game for groups is "Loaded Questions", got it at Barnes and Noble, it's super fun, makes for great conversation starters and makes you think, things like "what would you try if you knew you couldn't fail"..
Also "Catch Phrase" is fun.

Pokeno is a lot of fun...it is like bingo, but uses cards. We always bring a small gift so the winner of each round gets to choose a prize.

Here's a fun list... http://purpletrail.com/partytrail/featured_adult_games/to...

We also enjoy Spoons (it's a card game with spoons - google for rules), and Guesstures (a boxed game that can be purchased... kind of like charades on speed). Pictionary is fun, and I've heard they have an adult version with is fun also.

One of the things we do at some parties that really gets things going is jello shots (lots of recipes online). We usually pass out a few rounds while socializing, then use the shots as booby prizes for the loser of each round of spoons or other game. I would suggest making 8-10 shots per person. Condiment cups purchased at Sam's Club or Costco work perfectly.

This sounds like a great competition! And lots of fun!

You have to be the perfect age for New Comers either in Lewisville or Ft Worth groups. I never had so much fun being a stay at home wife for 11 yrs and only for three years was I able to do this. We moved here and I had a stroke the day we moved. Then got back some of my abilities and started decorating our home. I made all the window toppers as pillow accents and such. When I finally was into it for about 6 mos I was ready to go meet people. I asked a neighbor who was walking by and saw our door open. I went to a meeting and was hooked. They have all sorts of small groups as well as three luncheons a year. Starts in Sept. first luncheon is fall. The small groups meet in different places and you just sign up at the end of a meeting. I lead the craft group and became involved right away. I did the special meetings for two years. Fun, bunco, trips to different places and you can caravan meet at a store parking lot. Golf, Antiquing, gardening and if there is a group not there you can start one. Go have fun and meet the most wonderful women. I since moved to Ft Worth after divorcing and ( My ex was a LTC in the Army and retired after 24 yrs.) fun bunch of people. God Bless enjoy and also you can find them at the Chamber of Commerce. G. Also, the "conversation starter" series of cards is a hoot as well!

this game is super easy and fun to play with dollar bills. And of course, you can always incorporate drinking into it. :)

There is a game called LRC. It stands for left, right, center. It consists of only 3 dice. The dice are made special for the game so you would have to buy them. I got mine at Walgreen's. You start with 3 $1 bills or whatever money you want to play with($5, quarters, pennies. When it is your turn you roll the die(sp?). Let's say you roll an R, a L, and a dot. You would pass $1 to the person on the right, a $1 to the person on the left, and $1 goes into the middle pot. Whoever is the last one standing, wins the middle pot. A person may not play for several rounds but then the person next to him may have to pass him all of his $1's if he rolls whatever side he is sitting on. Then, he is back in the game. This is very good for large groups. I'm sure the directions in the dice explain it much clearer. The game is under $10.

You already have some great ideas offered. But if it is a group of people who might like to get to know each other better, try "Three truths and a Lie" where each person tells three truths and one lie about themselves and the group has to guess which one in the lie. After a decision is made, the person in question tells a brief synopsis about each truth and the then reveals the lie. It can be fun and a great way to find out things about each other that might not come up in normal conversation!

Hope whatever game is played, everyone has fun!

Bunco is fun for couples. We had a group in our neighborhood of 16 women.

We drank (a lot) so we kept our group limited to our block so no one was driving. Instead of playing and winning a prize, we played for money. Everyone put in $5, sometimes we did $10 and we would pay out the most wins, most losses, most buncos.

Always alot of fun.

I recommend this dice game called "Farkle". You can find the instructions on the internet. It is easy to play and easy to talk and visit while playing.

You could have prizes for the top winners.

Every year my Woman's Club group has a Valentine Dinner to honor our men. We play a dice game called Left Right Center. It is so fun and the men (and women) look forward to it every year. You can use fake money and give prizes to the winner or just use real money and the winner gets the money. You start each game with $3 so, it is not an expensive game to play. It is easy to play and would work well with a group of 10. Google it and you can read the rules. The dice are cheap and you can find them online or you can find a store that sells the dice. People get really excited while playing the game. It can get really loud as they are cheering each other on.

I have a book called FUN GAMES FOR GREAT PARTIES by Maralys Wills. Find it at Half.com http://product.half.ebay.com/_W0QQprZ###-###-####QQcpidZ#.... Unless you can find it locally (try Half Price Books), you won't be able to get it in time to help your friend. But, this is the best party book because it has all sorts of games that are not games you could buy from the store. There are mixers/starters, psychological/philosophical games, imagination games, brain games, action games, & theme games.

One of my favorites is a starter. Present guests with a hat & let them choose (example: pith helmet, beret, pirate, pink-feathered garden hat -- the more exotic the better!). Mark one or two of the hats inconspicuously inside. At some point in the party, have guests switch hats. This creates surprise because guests have carefully chosen their hat which is THEM, and now they must switch! Make 2 or 3 switches throughout party. At the end, ask guests to look in their hat, find the marking and award a prize (or two). Make it nice prizes, that way it seems like such an unexpected surprise!

Best of luck!
W.

The highlight of my bunch that gather at Christmas is playing Balderdash. Last Christmas we were playing when our teen grandson and some of his friends came in. They immediately asked to join us. The more the merrier. It's a game of outdated words and players try to guess or make up a convincing definition to fool the others. It really gets wild!

Hi there! This may not help you at all because it's not a game...but it would be something unique and a ton of fun...a paint party! I own a paint party studio in downtown McKinney...we have a lot of GNO groups, couples, etc...we can even bring everything to you. We could pre-sketch a really cool painting and everybody would leave with a 16x20 masterpiece! We could do a wine theme or whatever you wanted...we are always open to ideas. Anyhow, if this sounds like something you want to know more about please check out our site at www.sippitydoodlepaintparties.com. Feel free to contact me with any comments or questions. Thanks and good luck! H., Sippitydoodle owner
