I'd like to hear any experiences you have had (good or bad!) with any diet supplements. I've never taken any before and I am working out three times/week at Curves but have a really hard time controlling my appetite and am extremely low on energy. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried all of the pills and nothing works better than eatting apples and drinking water. I was told that you should drink 8 8oz glasses of water plus for every 10 pounds that you want to lose drink an extra glass per 10 pounds. Try it and see.

I use slim fast. It has worked for me but some of the meal bars are not very taste and they look small but they feel you up. And they also have snacks. Only thing it can get a little expensive after a while. Good luck on what every you choose

J.:
I am 49 years old, in the middle of menopause, single mother, registered nurse, and always on the go. I have found some nutritional supplements that have helped me deal with stress, sleep better, have more energy, better mental focus, and loose weight (total of 25 pounds and 14 inches so far - lost 8 in my fist week!) The products are guaranteed, safe, backed by doctors, nutritionists, scientists and more. They recently came out with a CHOCOLATE that tastes terrific, increases your energy (no stimulants) and takes your appetite away! The company is out of Arizona and is the world leader in nutritional cleansing. There is even a lady who owns a Curves who sells the products in her location to assist her clients.
My only advice - research the company, the products, the results others have had, and compare apples to apples with ingredients and price. Feel free to contact me if you would like more information on what I am doing.
Blessings,
E.

Water is good for you but come on, I'd have to drink like 16 glasses a day. I'd be too full for food and I'd float away, lol.
On a more serious note. Doesnt seem like alot of people advocate diet pills and for good reason. Yes, it is highly likely you will gain the weight back. Just as with a diet or walking or anything else you may try. Here is the catch. Whatever you chose to do to help you lose the weight is fine, the key is you STILL HAVE TO CHANGE WHAT YOU EAT/HOW MUCH YOU EAT AND YOU STILL HAVE TO GET ACTIVE. Period. And once you lose that weight you have to maintain activity and eating well. Or yes you will gain it back. I look at it this way: diet pills and surgery and diets are all TOOLS to help you lose weight, you still have to make the changes and do the work.
All that being said I hope you are still with me...I can be long winded, lol. Choosing the right pill for you will require some research. Some are fat burners, some are calorie burners, some are energy boosters. Determine which does what and which one you feel is for you.
Personally I have belly fat and yes I am "falling" for the line Relacore is putting out. About how stress causes it. After reading up on Relacore I can see it totally fits my life. I am extremely stressed and have been for the last few years and have gained more than 20lbs on top of my already extra 70. I had 2 babies back to back which also did not help matters. I take the Relacore, 4 pills a day instead of 6. And I have been exercising about every 3rd day. And I have cut out some sugar/carbs and just eating better. Like smaller portions and only 1 helping at dinnner. I have lost 10lbs in about a month-6wks.
I was never one for diet pills but short of surgery I feel desperate and thought I would at least try this route. I know its a tool and that when I do go off the pills I could gain the weight back. But my plan is to have changed my eating and exercising habits by then to help maintain my loss.
I hope this helps you some. Good luck.

ps: dh is taking alli. he has to lose about 25lbs by a certain date because he is military. but he should be able to maintain it once he goes off the pill. he has about 5more lbs to lose and its been about 6wks.
also one side note is that its good to only stay on the pills for a short time and then give your body a rest and just eat right and exercise. then you can start up again.
also about your energy, you could be iron deficient. i am permanently anemic after my 2 kids. i struggle w/ all the symptoms often. increase ur iron or get a supplement and see if that helps. your dr can do a simple finger prick to check your levels.

I also was on Adipex. I had my son 8 months ago, had gained 70 lbs during the pregnancy and have lost 60 lbs. I only took it for about 5 months, you may sometimes feel like you are not hungry, but you have to make sure you eat and eat the right stuff because you can get immune to the pills and all the weight will just come back on if you aren't eating better (I never took them on the weekends so that I could teach myself without the pills how to control my appetite and eat smaller proportions and better). I stopped taking it because I hit a stopping point and I know these last 10 lbs are only going to come off if I do some cardio. Irmo Family Practice is my doctor's office and you can buy it thru the office's pharmacy for a cheaper price than the regular pharmacies. Be careful because these pills have a warning that they can be addictive. Good luck!

i would absolutely encourage you NOT to do diet supplements...i've heard personal experiences from friends who took diet pills and lost a bunch of weight only to gain it back and more. Losing weight has to be a life style change to be effective. Try simply eliminating sugar from your diet...at first it will be hard but then you'll never know how you ate it!! and you will surprisingly have more energy. My best friend cut sugar sodas out of her daily life cold turkey and lost 20 lbs in a few months. with diet pills, you body begins to ignore them and you will need more and more. keep up the exercise!! and go to your doctor if you haven't been there lately and have a blood work-up done to see if you are deficient in something like iron, that is making you have low energy. be sure to take a good multivitamin every day...but remember, you are a SAHM to a 21 m/o...you cannot be expected to run yourself crazy all day everyday!! take some time to care for yourself.

I am currently taking Phentermine. This is a prescription so you must see a doctor. I have been on it since Aug/Sept and have lost about 30 lbs. I hate to excerise but this has worked like a charm. The only side effect I have experienced is the first day I took it. I took it in the morning and around lunch time I was feeling a little shakey. So I eat some lunch and that was that. No other side effects at all. You can look it up online. The brand name is Adipex. Good luck!!

Hi J.,

I've had some good experiences with the products that my company manufactures and sells. I have a home business with a wellness company and I'd love to tell you more about it if you would like. 2 of my favorite things are a workout bar that you eat 20 minutes before you work out and it blocks the chemical your body produces when you excercise that burns sugar for energy and forces your body to burn fat for energy it is GREAT!Also the vitamin packs give you so much energy and a general sense of well being. Best thing, they have a 90 challenge, try them for 90 days and if you don't have more energy and a better sense of well being they will refund all your money.

If you are interested in hearing more about it email me and I can set up an internet presentation for you.

I am with those that say don't use DIET SUPPLEMENTS!!! Most of them are only temporary fixes -- as is slim fast, south beach diet, etc. - you have to find what works for you and stick to it -- try not eating after dinner - or cut back on your carbs at your evening meal...there are other ways to modify what you are doing - making your lifestyle healthier...try chewing gum when you get the urge to eat, but know you shouldn't! Try adding some cardio in to your week - even if it is only twice a week - take your baby to the mall and walk and window shop!
Good luck...
PS - I really don't think that curves is about weight loss...I have heard people say they lose inches...and I am not sure that it gets your heart rate up...i would be interested in hearing what you do when you are at curves...

Curves also offers a weight loss class. I'm a member right now-1st week- and I've already lost a few pounds. It is basically the same as the south beach diet. They offer a glucose control supplement that helps if you have sugar/carb cravings. I'm trying to loose 60 pounds gained after having two kids (1 & 3 1/2 year olds). Good luck!

Hi J.,

I had a friend who was distributing Nutrilite products. I started using the meal replacement bars and the vitamins. I was also going to curves for a little over a year with no results. When I started the bars and supplements in a year I lost 20 pounds. So I decided to become a distributor. They guarantee there products with a 180 day money back guarantee, even if you use all of the products. And they make it so easy for you, they even pay for the return shipping. Here is my website: http://sgriffin11.qhealthbeauty.com

If you would like to learn more or get some samples. You can email me. Good luck.

before taking any dietary supplements, I would suggest talking to your doctor first. If you are having a hard time with your appetite and feeling sluggish, there may be a medical reason for this. Sometimes the dietary supplements are not as healthy as we all think.
You may want to check on the South Beach Diet. It actually shows you how to eat healthy, what foods to stay away from, which ones are good for you, etc...But definatley consult your doctor before taking any diet pills or other stuff

J.,
Before you take any of those diet supplements out there, make sure you check with your doctor. So many of them are NOT regulated by the FDA, and you could be in for a not so good thing. A lot of them work by pumping caffeine into your body, which over a period of time isnt a good thing. Also, there are some ingredients in those that can be deadly or at least put your health at serious risk. I think the best way is just to do what you are doing at curves.. working out. Drink lots of water, and if you want to eat, but know you arent hungry, try to do something to get your mind off of food! thats what always works for me. Good luck and be safe.
