Diet Experience

I like to know if anyone could teel me if they have used the 10 Rules for a Flat Stomach diet advertised at the mamasource page, the diet that say you eat 5 times a day for 11 days. Is this money expending for a veritable diet or it is another Gimmick? Please tell me, I am tire of fail again and again. I.

What can I do next?

Haven't tried that diet, but I looked at the advertisement and it looks like a gimmick. I successfully lost 96 lbs following the Weight Watchers program and have kept it off for 5 years. It takes determination, hard work and time to lose the weight - but the results are worth it. And it is also hard work to keep it off.
Good luck!!

Hi I.,

Eating fresh, WHOLE FOODS (no processed) and according to your metabolic typing would be very helpful.

Many of us have food sensitivities that we are not even aware of. I know when I eat dairy and wheat - I bloat. You might also want to look into food combining.

I also highly recommend a particular yoga pose for tightening the tummy. It is called the Tiger Pose. See it here: http://www.healthandyoga.com/html/yoga/asanas/tiger_pose.asp.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi I.,
Well I,m presently on the special diet after noticing my girlfriend lose so much weight so fast last year in an effort to fit into her wedding dress, so she recommended this special diet. Take note its four meals for the day. For me this is my second round of 11days. I guess I'm not as fortunate as she because I didnt lose the weight as expected, There were days however I didnt eat the four (4) meals and drink enough water. U have to follow the diet to the 'T' and it will work according to my friend. Its worth a try but u have to be very disciplined and oh yes my tummy is getting down and I'm seeing some improvements. All the best and let me know how it goes.

HI I.!

I am a personal trainer and have been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. In my experience, the best solution to a flat stomach (or flatter stomach) is a balanced diet that includes lean protein, good fats, and YES...carbohydrates (eating every few hours) and exercise.
You have to go back to the basics of calories in verses calories expended. Incorporate some abdominal exercises with cardio (walking,jogging,biking,etc...)and you will feel and look better! The following is the Harris-Benedict Equation you can refer to in order to lose 10lbs in 6 weeks. Remember, you should not lose more than 2lbs a week.
1) subtract 10lbs form current weight and multiply by 4.4
2)calculate height in inches and multiply by 4.6
3)multiply your age by 4.7
4)add up the answers from 1-3 then add 655.
5) multiply #4 by daily activity factor:
a. 1.2-sitting at desk all day/no execise
b.1.3-walking dog 2x/day or exercising 2x week
c. 1.5-exercising 1 hour/day for 3-5 days/week
d. 1.7- training hard 2+ hours/day and/or demanding job

Forget the fad diet books and instead try to make better food choices, start an exercise program and I guarantee you will feel so much better.

I hope this was helpful!

I have found weight watchers to be the only real plan that works and can last. that is because it is not a diet.

Hi! Don't know about the diet that you are referring to, but there is no diet that targets areas. The only way to truly lose tummy flab is through Aerobic Exercise. Of course weight training like crunches and other tummy targeted exercises help by firming up the muscle underneath, and more muscle means increased motabolism and that means fat burns faster. Eating 5 times a day is a VERY good stategy, as long as the meals are healty and keep within your daily caloric intake range. A woman's body will brun muscle before fat - and a constant intake of food "tricks" the body out of the faminie mode...

I did this diet about 3 years ago- it was at that time only called the "idiot proof diet", and nothing about your abs was included, so maybe there are some new rules... and it may be slightly different then. I found it easier to do then most any of the other diets, generating a meal plan for me, with items that were easy to make, and buy. Also it gave me like 5 meals that I could eat a day, in whatever order I wanted. I lost weight on it, every time I did it. My problem is that I don't eat much meat, I'm not quite a vegetarian, but I'm not a meat lover, and the food plan options weren't accommodating for my food choices.

Good luck. While it is a fad diet, and it's not something that you'd probably want to do for the rest of your life (a lifestyle change), it does work to jumpstart you into weightloss and help you are start eating better, healthier and towards more of a lifestyle change.

The only diet system I know to work is weight watchers but it's a lot of self dicipline. I was successful after my first child w/weight watchers but subsequent to my last child(now four)I just have not had the time or self dicipline. I went on ww for 2 months, lost 10 lbs then gave up and got lazy. Good luck to you!
